Stock C6z06 10.85@129.50
Thought guys in here with fast cars would like this...The cars is bone stock other than the bfg dr's..... The c6Z06 is an amazing car... here's the link to the thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1541575
GOD DAMN don't think the new gtr will compete...

Ranger's Z06 sure doesn't "sound" stock. I fail to believe that is a stock car. GOOD drivers with longtubes and a tune are having trouble trapping 127-128mph, yet he magically traps 129 in a stock car??
His times in his C5 Z06s were unreal and so are his times in this car. Something does NOT add up.

Ive raced at MIR. It's a great track-best in MD IMO, even slightly quicker than Cecil which is a fast track, at this time of year good drivers set records there I believe this. And no its not downhill, but def quick----> I ran11.98 @ 114mph in my TN at a so so track in MD 50 degrees out. In 90 degree heat I Ran 11.9 @ 116mph at MIR with a weaker launch, def a fast track.

I believe it and I'm jealous as hell. MIR is one of the quickest tracks in the nation and always seems to be one of three or so tracks that consistently see world record times when Fall rolls around. Conditions were in the -850 DA range which is superb. His Z06 was making 107% of it's available power. So basically this ~505hp motor was making closer to 540-545hp. With DRs and an experienced driver, it's believable considering the conditions. Very rare, but believable.
Also, C6 Z06s have variable mufflers. When the throttle is WOT above ~3000rpms, an exhaust valve basically bypasses ~60% of the muffler. These cars are freaking loud when that valve is open. Very loud. The C5 Z06s were significantly quieter. A guy here in Kansas City ran an 11.2@126mph with DRs and LTs this weekend in 900-1,000' DA conditions and he's not the best driver. If he would have run at MIR this weekend, he would have been running ~10.8s@129mph.

I also fail to believe that a ~2000ft DA difference will net you 3+mph in the 1/4 mile. At 1800ft DA in the spring I trapped 120mph, with a -400ft DA two weeks ago I trapped 120.8mph at the same track.
fi cars better compensate for DA than N/A cars
my car will suffer quite a bit running 1000 da versus -1000 da which i have run in. at my track.
simply bypassing the fuse you can keep the flap open in the mufflers. Most likely what they did. It does create quite a drone on the highway.

With my g35, a difference of 1100' feet was responsible for a solid .2 seconds. I can totally see a .35 seconds difference with my G running at a 2000' DA vs sea level.

Hey Bri... I was there so was a friend. All it had was DRs.
Its not fake, much to some people's dismay. He's just a good driver on a fast track.
Have you ever seen someone run a 10.99 on a stock rear, non-ported blower, non-Solid-axle 03/04 Cobra... I hadn't, neither had any of SVTPerformance.com but my best friend managed to do it.
check it....
www.sloppymechanics.com - the main page pic is his car, the next page shows the run. Oh... and he did it at ISLAND Dragway in NJ ... Not a "fast track" at all. Everytime I ran at Island, I'd run 2 tenths faster at E-town or Maple Grove. 3 tenths better at Atco or MIR.
Its as simple as this... not everyone's as bad of a driver as you or I

Shifting speed wise, he is not fast, but I would imagine a very fast shift in that car on 1-2 or 2-3 would def get him unneeded wheelspin and worse times. He is a good driver overall, and drives Vettes to good times. Just kinda misleading when you listen to him go down the track. A crazy fast shift isnt always ideal...zmaestro you should know this
