Default Wheel spacers and drag racing?

Who drag races with wheel spacers? I am talking about the ones that have studs pressed in the spacer. Does anyone not recommend this and why not? I use rx7 wheels and they have 40 offsets. I would like to move them out just a little.

The wheels take a lot of abuse from drag racing because of the sudden torque applied to the back wheels. The OEM lugs seem to be strong. I do not know about extended lugs with spacers.

From a performance perspective, spacers are OK. For safety I would check the lugs after each racing day to make sure that they are OK.

I would not use them with RX7 wheels. There is enough room without them.

I know there is room, but I leave my front streets on that are 19x9 with 20something offsets. This makes my fronts wider than the rears. I'm thinking I'll try the spacers if I can find a decent used set. I have an at5 with a vorthech, so this shouldn't be too hard on the spacers/lugs.

i broke six of my OEM lubs racing, they are certainly not strong. the spacers with the studs already pressed into them is a very good idea and will saved your oem lug bolts from snapping.
