Wheel spacers and drag racing?
Who drag races with wheel spacers? I am talking about the ones that have studs pressed in the spacer. Does anyone not recommend this and why not? I use rx7 wheels and they have 40 offsets. I would like to move them out just a little.
I do without any problems...i dont know if i would recommend them, but they have been ok and i have gone to the strip plenty of times with street tires and also a handful of times with DR's without any issues
The wheels take a lot of abuse from drag racing because of the sudden torque applied to the back wheels. The OEM lugs seem to be strong. I do not know about extended lugs with spacers.
From a performance perspective, spacers are OK. For safety I would check the lugs after each racing day to make sure that they are OK.

i broke six of my OEM lubs racing, they are certainly not strong. the spacers with the studs already pressed into them is a very good idea and will saved your oem lug bolts from snapping.
