you guys are missing my point here, i am just saying, that pound for pound, mod for mod, the straight axle will out launch ours, of course there are IRS s pulling those, but then there are straight axle cars with the same thigns done pulling 1.1s and 1.2s.

im not trying to argue, just saying that its easier mod for mod to make a straight axle car launch harder.

not saying it cant be done, cause with just lowering springs and a bog, i am pulling low 1.6s, some more tweaking and i know i will pull some 1.4s without a doubt.

not sure how the brand new vettes are, but yes they have IRS, but it was on a solid axle like the mustang cobras are. they actually used a sideways leaf spring in there for a while in the C4s, but not sure about the newer ones..

I'll stand by my original statement. It's not IRS vs. solid, it's a well sorted suspension/tire setup vs. a poorly sorted suspension/tire setup.

And I also assumed we were talking street type cars not full blown race cars, because almost nobody is gonna drive (or trailer) their street car to the track and pull a 1.1 or 1.2 60 ft., regardless of their tire.

I will agree that there are probably more solid-axle cars at the track getting good 60 fts. than IRS cars, but that's probably because there are alot more of them.

C6 vettes still use the leaf spring suspension setup and Vettes have been IRS as long as I can remember. Cobras are also IRS cars.

Nice trap speed...I believe you would need a full 8 point cage at 135mph traps, regardless of ET's

you also need a 5 point roll bar in there for anything under 11.49, that will make the pig of a car even piggier!! hehe

but yeah, 8 point for 135, any ET...

Sharif,
Looks like if I get the engine fixed, I will only get one shot at the 1/4 before being barred for no cage. Let’s make sure it is a good one Would love to get a trap like yours..

Doesnt take a lot for a high trap IMO--->power, traction and semi decent driving skills. The ET will seperate the men from the boys Next season will be a good one for many people....

What do I think about what?

My car did 541whp on my high boost pump gas, thats 15psi for me.

Sharif's car is way crazier, 19.5psi on race gas making 650whp on his dyno. Only thing I have on him is Im 100lbs lighter and a little experience I know with slicks and ***** out shifting his car could go deep into the 10's, and that trap would jump up considerably as well. Maybe one day Sharif would let me take his beast down the 1/4

haha....I am 170lbs soaking wet.

Alberto's tune was 15psi in high boost. I dont tune above 15-16psi without race fuel. Plus, I do take a few extra liberties with my own car, that I wouldnt otherwise do with a customer's car. Bert's is still wickenly fast for that boost level.

Alberto, if I can keep one of your spare trannies in escrow, you are welcome to molest my car anyday at the track. I want to see you run it like a...how do you usually put it.....like a raped ape!
