bone stock 07 touring 350Z @ PIR this saturday (guess it's a bit of a slow track from what I hear, watched an STI with intake/exhaust run a 13.8@98mph as his best run)

My best:
60ft -- 2.15
1/8th -- 8.96 @ 80.55
1/4 -- 13.76 @ 100.96

My very first time with a RWD car. I keep snapping pictures of my slip but it comes out all grainy, I'll try later if you really need it.

edit: here's the slip http://fullavit.com/stuff/Z/13.7.jpg

Ran a 14.315 with 2.137 60' ant ET 98.53. Could of done better though, another Z said he ran a 14 flat that day.

Its funny, I've heard PIR is a bit slow, but your trap speeds are higher than mine in the 1/8th, and your 1/4 is VERY close with my best runs.

edit- but you're only gaining 20 mph in the last 1/8th is a bit odd.

For reference I ran 3 times tonight between 13.55 and 13.60, none with over a 102 trap, or 80 MPH in the 1/8th. My 60' times were almost .2 ahead of you though, so I think thats where the missing time is.

Yeah it really is, I felt like my 13.7 was a fluke run that I couldn't repeat :<

The only thing I can think of is that everything off the launch area is not level, I had to correct the car (pull it straight cause it was drifting to the side) several times, and it seems the back half of the track has a lot of up/down action heh

I think I could of pulled a 13.5~13.6 @ PIR had I nailed a 1.9~2.0 60ft. The last half of the track was killing me -- I was shifting into 4th right before the end of the 1/4 (very quickly too) like I should be, so other than blaming the ****ty track conditions I don't know what else it could be. Eh, I'll just throw on a few bolt ons and go pull 13.0~13.1's at woodburn and pretend they really helped a lot

Its funny, because I got some EXCELLENT 60' times, especially considering the amount of fluids that kept getting leaked on the track, and I always got the lane after the VHT had been worn in good. But because of the heat my second 1/8th was worse than my previous fast runs - I pulled no more time than what I got out of my 330' for my entire ET.

If I could get an 81-82 trap on the 1/8th I think I'd be in 13.35-13.4 territory, but its hard to say without actually running it, but I was having a 2nd gear issue last night (grinding on quick shifts, had to slow shift, lost .05 or so) meaning I could have been around 13.50 if all had been well.

But if PIR isn't level thats a big deal.

I was trying to stage in the tracks the guys with slicks were leaving on the track... Another thing I noticed @ PIR was how much junk your tires picked up from the track -- I had chunks of rubber sticking to my tires lol. When racing my other cars @ Woodburn all I picked up was some dust and dirt from the exit lane on my way to get my slip (easy to brush off with a very quick burn out on the dry staging are).

I have the same issue with 2nd gear... It's almost like I'm not pushing the clutch in fast enough and scratch 2nd pretty hard (not to mention I get a nice burn out from the tires going into 2nd lol). This only happens at redline on really quick shifts. I'm going to try putting in some nice synthetic redline fluids soon and see how it goes.

I guess they have a 10 year renovation plan for the track or something -- it doesn't look nearly as maintained as Woodburn. Might as well race on the street... lol

Wait until warranty is over. Apparently unscheduled maintenance with non OEM fluids "can" give them reason to "try" to void your tranny warranty. Plus, I lost my transmission once already (6th gear) and the new one felt rough in second immediately. I called and had it noted, but its still annoying. Basically, I wasted $50 on redline fluids though putting them in on my 1200 mile break in service .

I don't plan to go into the dealership for any kind of "scheduled maintenance". I'm assuming they charge you a good buck to change all your fluids -- no thanks, I can do it myself. They better have a better excuse than aftermarket fluids that are to spec on what's in the manual to void my warranty... lol

I know, they didn't say anything to me, just - it helps a little, but still these synchros suck enough that I won't waste my $$ again on the fluid. I rented my indy's lift to do it.

Hey, describe your launch technique for the good 60 ft times please? You dont floor it right away right? give it like 75% throttle?
