With a time slip 3hree5ive0ero may add you to 100% stock down to the tire. Are you driving a 2004 with the original tires?

Would using RACE GAS on 100% stock still be placed under Stock Timing category?

Personally, I don't see how using race gas does anything beneficial for you at the track, so I don't see why you'd even waste your money on race gas for a stock car.

However, you said "stock timing." What does that mean? We have no such category. If anything was modified, it would fall under bolt-ons/NA category.

Running race gas on a stock Z would actually not help it in any way. Race gas allows you to be more aggressive with timing with less risk of significant detonation. The gas in and of itself does not improve the power output of the vehicle. I actually tried this once for fun and it did not improve anything. If anything, it may have made it slower, but I don't know why it would.

Wouldn't that race gas, if leaded, be pretty harmful for your cats?

Yes, I believe so.

I was using 101 unleaded, so no damage, but no benefit either.

Just wanted to know if 1/4 mile time using race gas would still be considered "100% stock down to the tire", looks like yes, that's all I needed to know.

If all you did was just use race gas with no other mods (any type) down to stock tires, then yes, I guess you could be considered to be on the 100% stock list.

Higher octane fuel actually has less energy per unit of volume, so you're going to make less power than running what the car is designed for + a hair. I typically run 92 or 93 and timing doesn't get pulled, any more and you are just wasting your money.

I appreciate your feedback, however my question was not about race gas benefits.

Sorry, was reading too many things at once, was more agreeing it doesn't serve a benefit (aside from excessively hot climates).

Wouldn't that fall under the Ricer Logic Class, instead of 100% stock?

Well sorry it took so long to respond but i could not find the page agian. i can post my slip tonight i am at work till 2am. I think the tires are stock the guy i bought the car from said that they were. I think they are bridgstone but not positive and i know the rims are stock. They only thing i added to the car was a k and N oil filter and royal purple motor oil. I hope that is stock enough to make it on the list i will post back later tonight though.

To be considered stock, you must be using stock fluids with stock parts. If any part of your car has any non-OEM part on it, then it is no longer considered "stock" for this thread.

HDPD, I guess it does. Should we create a new category/list for those?

I hope they were being sarcastic, if you have Bridgestone RE040 245 width tires you fit the list.

By whose standards? It was agreed initially in this thread that any modification to the car, including a K&N drop-in filter (which he has), will bump you out of the stock list. Hopefully, your "stock" time was done with factory/OEM parts. It's been that way up until now and it's not changing.

Personally, race gas to me doesn't matter, but my opinion isn't the authority - it's the general consensus that matters. And as far as my "fluids" comment goes, just ignore it. I don't know what I was thinking.
