I have a new VB in my 5AT (GTM...love it!!!).

Here are the new results. Just noticed I have the time sequence numbers wrong. Run #5 I thought would be my best run and it felt like it was a hot run, but as you see it was my slowest....so much for the butt dyno's. My R/T's were horrendous since I haven't been to the track for quite a while. Run five I tried to compensate and fouled.....but I am knocking on the door of a 1.8 60' with street tires.
I will be in the 12.7's even if I have to do it with DR's. I think I can do it with street tires though.

I don't think I'll run any decent times for a while. It's May and it's starting to get disgustingly hot again in TX, not to mention the nonstop rain we've been having.

Congrats man. Nice to see some more AT's running good times. I have a question though do you know why your trap speeds are so low? Is it the track?

He's bracket racing, which means he's not necessarily trying to get the fastest E.T. possible. His track elevation is 20-100' (whatever that's supposed to mean), so it's not the track and his climate conditions weren't bad. Seeing how he's pulled off numerous 1.9s on street tires, the prep was also good. He was probably letting off in the end or wasn't WOT the entire time.

Race #4 is pretty cool with the double break-out. Good show.

There are whole threads about my low traps on here. When it was fairly stock I would run high 13's and never hit 100mph..I mean never. I hit 100mph once in several hundred passes. It probably has something to do with a number of things on the car (probably the gearing) and how I drive. I want to get there first and have the same ET each time.

The best part is it is the Z Car Garages 370Z. The driver was new to the car and is mostly a road racer. I have driven that car on the street and it is probably a low 13 car. It feels like a V8.
I was wondering if anyone would pick that up
31/10000 hahahaha....I had one other one and it was against a good drag friend too....... and it was a race. I thought he won, but I got him by 1/10000. I love those close races!

With 7.5# boost, 91 octane and full cats:
349.69 rwhp
287.06 rwt.
It's gong on the dyno again for a retune in a month.

Yeah thats really weird. By full cats do you mean the stock ones? My trap didnt change until I installed testpipes. Before testpipes my highest was 101 now I've hit 105 once and 104 consistantly.

Yes, stock cats. IMO test pipes are one of the best things to do to gain more power cheap, but here in Cali the cops will check to see if you have them. if you do, it can very expensive and your car will be labeled a gross polluter so you will have to have smog checks more often. Two months ago I passed the C.A.R.B. smog check with my Z.The Vortech is CARB approved. One of the first things they do during the visual inspection is check your cats.

Trap speeds give you some bragging rights, but it doesn't win races, so I don't worry about it. I would guess that if I went up in smoke at the line, I would have a much higher trap speed when I finally got to the other end. I launch at 2500rpm.

You know there are multiple ways around that issue. You can get high flow cats, which is obvious. You can also do something similar to the Motordyne exhaust where it has a central cat that is also more free flowing, while getting high flow cats or test pipes. Last, but not least, you can do what a lot of drag racers do and get exhaust cut-outs. I'd personally go with this option.

You won't pass a smog check in cali. In the old days you could, but not now.

I don't have high traps at any track.

I don't need any more hp. I want a very reliable car that I can beat the crap out of at the drags without blowing anything up....and still be able to hit mid 12's. I haven't got to mid 12's yet, but I have only made 5 passes with this new setup. You will note that I am very consistent and when I get the tire pressure and launch's the way I want them I will be constantly turning 12.5 - 12.6. That's all I need to do to win a Summit ET series. AND good reaction times...almost forgot about that.
