+1 on most likley not clearing brembos...some 17"'s don't clear brembos. what offset are they? I assume they're a 5X114.3 lug pattern?

since oem wheels dont have agresive offsets and these are 16 inch wheels youll most likely need spacers before you can even start to think theyll clear.

why not just use the rears?

You went to the dragstrip once now you are ready for slicks? Relax a minute John Force and listen. You asked for advice before racing, but not after.

The best mod that you can make now is you: your technique. Your ET is all over the place. 14.49 - 15.57. Skilled racers are not fast - they are consistent. Practice on street tires and run 2.0 seconds every run. Practice your game. You will be able to run 14.49 seconds every run. Street tires are forgiving of mistakes. Generally racers do not break the rear axle on street tiers. Once your skills are the best that they can be, and are consistent, then it is time to graduate to slicks.

just get the same rims alberto was running, i believe they were 16x8s with 4.5 backspacing and they fit, then throw some MT ET streets on them and then you wont have any traction problems...

I am going to get some Cobra-R wheels.. The Mustang Cobra-R SVT rims have 5.98" of backspacing (+24mm offset).

My Volks have a +24 offset on the rears.. I will have pics later tonight to show.. They should fit......
