Default Took wifes Rustang to the drags

It's a 06 GT with an automatic. She can't drive a stick. Ran 14.3/14.6/14.5. Did some big smokey burnouts. Anyone know where I can get a line lock for the front brakes on my Z. My Z ran some 14 flats last year with a lot of wheel spin. I really did'nt notice to much wheel spin with the Rustang.

no need for line locks, just make sure you pull the fuse in the fuse box labeled "stop lamp" and you can do standing burnouts all day.

make sure you put the fuse back in cause your brake lights wont work.

line locks are for girls!!

Ya, I have been working on lauding the drivetrain on the launch and it works rather well. I just cant wait to get some wider tires, and some camber arms to help out that much more. I would like to have consistent 2.0 60's or better on street tires.

You can ask my wife for lessons... LOL, just busting your *****. I don't know how she did it, but she cut a 2.0 her first time out with our old Z. Embarrased the hell out of me. She launched mad low (like around 2300-2500) real smooth-like... no clutch dump, just a high street-type launch. With what you said above, you should cut better than a 2.0.

Ya, I would hope so. Im just thinking that consistent 2.0's or better should have me in about mid-low 13's with my basic mods. As long as you dont try to do anything too much, and keep it smooth, the launch isnt all that bad. Its when your trying to take off at too high an rpm, or you dump the clutch too fast when you'll see problems.

I would get a tune for the rustang. She wont even know (unless you do a premium gas tune ) which you should.

The drive by wire keeps the TB closed somewhat in 1st gear in that car. An intake and tune would do wonders and she would be none the wiser. They sell them in kits. I bet you would have the auto running 14.0s even though it shopuld be inn the 13s stock. what is your elevation and what was your mph in it?

Just to let you know,

That [05-07] "Rustang" should be slightly faster than a stock Z by the way. Well atleast the MT's are.

The elev is about 2200ft. Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The top speed was 94/95 mph. I hid the timeslips so she would'nt know I was beating on her baby. Now I can't find them. The rear gear ratio is a 3:31. The stick models have a 3:55. Oh, she asked why the car smelt like burnt rubber.

My roommate and I raced at the track and on the interstate. Our times were the same with his 60' better and my trap being 1MPH higher.

On the interstate, pulled him slightly from a 50MPH roll.
