Some people just take drag racing a little more serious then you apparently. All that mumbo jumbo actually contains a lot of useful information. there are a lot of informative and intelligent people on this forum. If you payed attention, you might be able to learn something.

You now have an 07 and we would love to be able to see what more of these do. Hopefully if and when you drag race it, you wont consider a good launch just a bunch of mumbo jumbo!

Obviously if you run in 90 degree weather your times will be slower then a nice 65 degree day but theres no need to bicker about it!
True, but a majority of people don't understand just how much conditions can influence your times and calculating the DA allows you to see the negative/positive influence. People start getting the wrong idea and can't figure out why they're getting .4-.5 second and 3mph slower times when much of the difference is simply crappy DA.

BTW, even with a corrected ET/MPH of a 13.8@103mph, that's flat out moving for a pretty weak 2.2 60'. If the car were to pull the more typical lower 2.0, that's a 13.4-13.5@103-104mph car in sea level air and potentially a 13.2-second car is excellent conditions. Put slicks on and you're looking at 12s. That's mighty impressive for a $27K V6 entry-level sports car.

ha! Yes I understand there are many factors in racing but I am not going to race one day because of things beyond my control(weather) and if the numbers are good then great if not then I will go again. If they are poor and the weather was not the best then I can understand that. I am not discrediting anyone I am just saying I do it for fun and the launch is important! and so is the weather! I want to get the best times just as much as everyone else.

Every track day wont be perfect so you will always run according to how the weather is. Which IMO makes all times true no matter what.

Very cool, that car has A LOT more in it. I knew the HR was going to be quicker than the 03-06 Zs.

So you are saying that this 07 HR engine is only going to be made for 1 year?

off topic but...

There are several magazines this month including car and driver and motortrend that say the new 08 g35 coupe will have the 3.7 liter vq with 320+ hp. We won't know for sure unless nissan/infiniti says so now or when it debuts at the NYC auto show in the second week in april (one month!). One would logically think if the 08 g coupe gets the 3.7 then the 08 z will get it too. Who knows....

I'm waiting till april before i purchase a z just incase i really fall for this new g. I bet its the same speed as the 07 z b/c it will weigh more.

Yes, but the new G will be redesigned thus the new engine. The Z will prob get a new design with a new engine in 09 or 10. Untill then its prob gonna stick to the newly revised VQHR.

It's not a "new engine" it's a revised version of the same VQ as always.

3.7 makes NO sense. The newly released 2007 380 RS in Japan (350 HP stock) uses a 3.8L VQ38HR. Why the hell would nissan produce a 3.7 AND 3.8?

Logically thinking, they will use the VQ35HR for a few years, and then switch to the VQ38. But as usual we get the good stuff a few years after the japs.

Anyway REALLY eager to see what a stock 380 RS runs and traps?
