I have no idea why you don't believe the clutch won't slip. I was there, and it stuck to the floor under power 3 times, causing me to abort the runs, and call it a day. As soon as I let up on the gas, the clutch popped out. This is definitely a problem that will be addressed at the dealer.

I have also noticed it starting to do this under moderate acceleration, getting on the freeway.

Anyway, 13.4 is a good starting point, but not what the car is capable of.
I don't know, to me 2.08 has always been a great 60' on factirt street tires for stock Zs.
And I really don't think the 07 is any faster off the line than the previous model years.

You prove me wrong;, let me see 1.9s on street tires at that track on a consistent basis. Shut me up.

You've got to know that it would be extremely difficult. With Drag Radials, of course it's a lot easier, but on factory street tires, anything below 2.1 is gold imho.

Awesome times. I knew someone would do it. You can do better to because I trapped 1.5 mph faster then you so a lower time can be achieved. I know how you feel on the launch though, nothing but wheel spin in first. Great job!

I agree... a 2.0 on stock tires is a damn good launch. In a Z anyways... in my case it's a different story.

Thats unbelievably impressive from a stock 07. I look forward to seeing those numbers improve.. Sounds like the 07 will be a low to mid 13's car

My 3 best runs with the stock 2004 were 13.69, 13.68 and 13.640, all with 1.9 60' times, back to back to back.

A 2.08 isn't gold imo, but maybe it's because I expect a lot more out of my driving. A 2.08 is only .02 away from being a 2.10. A 2.00 would actually drop my time by up to .18 in the 1/4. A 1.98 would be around a .20 drop by the 1/4.

I ran the best stock time in my 2004 with the original Potenzas. I later switched to Firestone WO's, and still ran 1.9's every time I went to the track, not on every run obviously, but pretty consistently.

The 2007 is much stronger than my 2004 was, and running the 2.08, and 13.45, seemed pretty easy, given the fact that I launched easy and lifted a bit long on the upshift from 1st to 2nd. Normally I shift very aggressively, but on this day that resulted in massive wheelspin.

Here is the link from my 2004's stock best run, along with time slips and video.

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/118796-new-stock-record-i-will-not-talk-crap-about-the-potenza-s-anymore.html

Hang around, and you will see me run at least a 13.2 stock, along with a 1.9 60'. I'm sure someone will surpass my 13.45 too, as soon as more 07's get to the track.

Nice times. You best run 13.1-13.2 stock.

P225/45WR18 (front) and P245/45WR18 (rear) Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's

Base 6 speed, with a few options, like the aerodynamics package, kick plates, splashguards, etc.

First off, great times.

How much of a difference do you suppose the LSD in the Enthusiast would make?

I would assume it would help some, but I never really had any problems without it. I did notice a difference driving on a wet surface.

When is your next time out going to be, and are you going to change anything to your car? Tires, any custom intakes/test pipes?

i know what veetec is saying. anything above a 2.0 60' for a guy that has a ton of passes at the track on street tires is really kinda weak. i started in the 2.3's, go to the 2.2s, then 2.1's and couldnt get it any better for quite a while. then i figured it out and cut 2.0s then 1.9s. when my cobra was still just bolt ons with good track prep, if i didnt hit 1.8s on street tires i was pissed. i think 1.8s are the threshold for a street tire, if he had an lsd i think vt would pull some

A Vette is a different story. They have something like 315's out back stock. The Z only has 245's (GT's with 265's I believe).
