Default The best way to launch a Z.

I have an 07 6-speed Enthusiast, what is the best way to launch in a drag race?

Can't speak for a 2007, but I find on street tires, between 2000-3000 RPM's and feathering the clutch gives me the best launch. Also make sure you drop your tire pressure to like 30psi or so.

More experienced drag racers can chime in.

Practice.

Vary the RPM from 2 to 4,000.
Vary the clutch technique from dumping to slipping the clutch.
Vary the tire pressure from 20 to 30 PSI.

Note the factors on your time slip. Repeat what works best. Discard what does not.

Strap two of these to the hatch. No loss of traction guaranteed to improve ET by 7 seconds if you can keep it on the track. J/K

Is dumping or slipping a better way to launch? I mean is there like a definit dumping or slipping answer for 350z's? I mean WRX for example, the best way to launch is slipping the clutch always. I just really dont like the idea of slipping it, lol.

You can generally gage traction on the staging pad after the first practice run. If traction is good, you can get more aggressive with the clutch. If traction is bad, go a bit easy. Of course you might be able to try the other lane.
