Angry Here is my 1/4 Mile time...It sucks!!

Went to LACR this past Weds with 97supratt, first off, this guys' car is pretty quick and very good looking. Now, this was also my first time at the track and Ive never even tried launching my car from a dig.....so here it is:

04/04/07 @ 72 degrees against some wind. Dont know what my tire pressure was, sorry.

.532 <<<<< Yes, I know. My best that day was a .043
2.224
6.260
9.537
75.509 mph
12.248

14.701
94.320 mph <<<< WTF?!

19" TE37's with crappy Toyo T1R's, MREV2, 5/16" spacer, Nismo catback, Popcharger.

Comments, suggestions, and opinions are welcomed....good or bad.

No, there isnt.

Not sure what the OP is upset about, but 14.6 might be the best any Z will do up there at LACR.

I have NEVER seen a Z get past the 14.6 mark stock. Even with a near perfect launch.

Take it to Cal Speedway, and im sure you'll be more greatful of your times.

It's a little lower than average for a Z over at LACR.

With his mods, probably should be looking around ~97 at most.

LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level. The ET correction factor is 0.97 or 14.25 seconds. There is always room for improvement.

That only factors in a relatively small issue (compared to other issues); elevation.

LACR is in the middle of a high wind desert; its always dusty. Traction is just horrific.

That formula is bogus, because it only factors in elevation, which isnt anything as much a factor as the traction.

LACR, aka "Ice Rink"

Yea, the elevation factor can only atribute for so much. It is certainly significant, but if on top of that the track sucks, then its going to be that much worse. I guess that is just a hard track to run good times at.

The DA for LACR is alot higher than 2710 feet.

1. Don't worry about reaction time. Practice learning how to launch the car. There is room to improve your 60'. 2.2 isn't bad, but you should be able to do a little better. Work on getting it to around 2.0. They say every .1 second off your 60' is .2 seconds off your E/T.

2. Obviously your at a bit of a disadvantage if the drag strip is that high above sea level. That can't be helped. Maybe fine another that is lower if you can.;

3. Don't worry if your times suck at first. I got lucky my first time (ran 13.985 with a 2.25 60') and run at a very good track in NJ (Englishtown). When I went to Z-Nationals in Georgia, I was hitting 14.6's and 14.7's in the begining because it was hot, limited traction on street tires, and I was launching bad.

Ok I see. So its really a 14.25, not bad. I forgot about the correction. We were going against the wind. I dont feel so bad anymore. My shifting does need improvement though.

Just keep practicing. Try and learn the whole DA scale, and go on a day where the number is low. Obviously a day that has low humidity, low temp, blah blah blah, will pretty much get you your best results.
