Default 1st time at track (2007)

Well the car has 1300 on the odometer and I decided to try it out on the track. This is my 2nd attempt at the track with a RWD manual car so I am still a n00b at this.
The place: Capital Raceyway, Crofton, MD
Weather: 62degrees, 82% humidity. Felt a lot cooler though since the sun went down.
I had 2 runs for the night since the place was packed due to OPS racing.
Car is STOCK with just a Nismo Exhaust. Lowered if that helps. 1/2 tank of gas and spare and tool kit in trunk with a bag of golf clubs and 3 woods, golf shoes, softball glove.

First run sucked big ballls. 14.026@100.96mph with a crappy 2.3xx 60ft. I launched the car at 2.5rpm and went really easy on first gear. Did not go WOT. So I guess a 14.0 is ok.

Lowered my tire pressure after the run. Did not know the pressure and did not have a guage so I just released air in the rear tires for 10secs each side since from factory they put a lot of air in them.
On my way home stopped by gas station to put in air thinking I let out too much. NO I was wrong. The rear tires were at 40psi and the front tires at 44psi....
So my 2nd run was with a 40psi in the rears which accounted for my tire spinning action all through 1st gear. I ran it hard though this time. Once I got into 2nd gear car went straight with no traction issues.
I know this car has a lot more in it. I couldnt get another run in and there was a time gap of about 2hours between my first and second run. picked the wrong day to goto the track.
Well heres my timeslip for you track gurus to analyze. Please give me pointers on how not to go sideways and lose traction during 1st gear.
Overall I am satisfied with the time I got and I KNOW theres more to this new vq35hr motor. I figured the low mph was due to my fat a$$

Sorry I dont have a scanner so I just took a picture of the time slip. Its kinda blurry but this is all I can get I am car 546 on the left.

13.629@102.80

R/T : 1.223
60' : 2.052
330 : 5.803
1/8 : 8.856
MPH : 80.71
1000: 11.447
1/4 : 13.629
MPH 102.80

All in all, there's really not a lot to be disappointed about with your second time slip. If I could get a 60' like that, I would be damn happy. I'd say you did a pretty good job, and just would see if you could be consistent with that.

102.8mph is not all that bad either. Im sure if you dropped a few pounds in your car you would easily see 103mph. Good stuff!

Hey thats all fine and well, but I wish I could say I got a 2.06 60' spinning. Atleast you got a decent 60' in the first place.

Very nice, I'll be taking mine next weekend most likely. What trim Z do you have? I guess what I'm most curious about is whether you have lsd or not.

You eastcoast dragsters have it easy.

Goodjob on that run! Nice & impresive 60 ft too!

Our tracks over at SoCal are completely the opposite

+1. I assume these are street tires? You have 60 feet down pat. Nice driving.

These are on my stock potenzas. They (re050)do grip a little better then the re040. Comparing my times with the other 07's that ran my 1/8mile seems a tad slow. Is it due to my first gear spinning or my granny shifts?

The 40psi hot is not high. To get a proper reading the tires should be cold. Thats why your traps were low. Anyway good driving!

congrats on 13.6, the times im seeing for the HR's are very impressive for stock. some of the 13.4 runs for example. leave some of that stuff at home the next time you swing by the strip and you could bring home a 13.4-13.5.
