If you don't have a Porsche, you don't have Tiptronic.

Your timeslip may help people understand where you are screwing up.

Please test your car in the 1/4 mile. Then come back and let us know the results.

Tiptronic is on manual shifting cars, specifically Porsches and F1 cars where you are shifting without using the clutch.
Accordaleer...If I'm not mistaken the 5AT doesn't have a clutch.
The comments in this thread are pretty funny. I have been racing my 5AT in the 1/4 mile for quite awhile and unless you have a TC upgrade and upgraded VB and set the rev limiter higher, just leave it in auto mode because you can not shift any faster than the ecu....just trying to help

Sorry to correct, but...

Tiptronic uses a torque converter, not a clutch. Nissan uses the Tiptronic license from Porsche in the 350Z.

The AT 350Z has a Tiptronic transmission.

So your saying Porsches don't have a clutch.....I think your mistaken

edit....nope I am wrong...I need to start reading up more.Maybe I was thinking of sequential gear boxes.

I love that shat.

My car is a factory freak.......post a time slip
I pwn MT's.....post a time slip
I pwn AT's....post a time slip
I pwn God...post a time slip

Or don't read the thread and just looking to post *****......post a time slip.

Flame suit on.

Or you can stop all this nonsense, your a bada** BS and realize that you are in the DRAG section of the forum and that the Street section was knocked off. Post a slip is something we say to people who really race there car on a track, where it belongs. Its how you can really tell who is faster.

So in conclusion, go back to the Off topic section with this garbage, or just post a time slip. Thanks!

Honestly, this thread does have some cool info. on tiptronic and what not, but it doesnt belong in here.

My AT launches fine for me.

I find it weird, when i get on it hard, the manual will shift basicly instantly, but if im just cruising slowly, it lags about half a second literally. Almost like it knows im not in a rush to shift into next gear.
I figured this out over the weekend on the highway. I always hated when my car took so long to kick in when I floored it from a roll now I can finally own people on the highway.

My advice, if racing, drag or not, i would leave it in auto mode, if you shift a fraction too late and hit the rev limiter you screw yourself, auto mode will take it to redline long as you have pedal to the floor.
Gas cost to much to shift manually anyway but it depends on how I feel I may hit the stick over just to mess around. But on the drag strip I always race in manual mode.

No, why should it be? I always use manual mode in auto-x and it works great! It's amazing to see other drivers' faces when they realize they just got spanked by an A/T Z.

OP -- was your TCS/VDC turned off? Make sure it's turned off when you're drag racing. I turn them off in auto-x.

I have no idea what this says. If it's derogatory toward me, then I suggest that you read the post that I was responding to. That done and you still meant to type whatever the F this is...then go stick your high and mighty self up someone else's tail pipe. Thanks.
