Default Mustang Wheels

I been looking for a cheap set of 17" wheels that are wide enough to slap on some drag radials. Now my question is anyone use mustang wheels? Theres a set of 17x9 17x10.5 cobra wheels with 24mm 27mm offset on ebay for about $400shipped. They maybe heavy but I rather use 17's with drags then my 19's with street tires. What are your thoughts? Will they fit? I will only buy these just for track reasons.

On side note I think they look ok. Just have to replace the centercaps with nissan caps.

I had a similar setup for my drag radials. They are Cobra ultra lights I believe 17x9 or 9.5

I would go with 16 inch pony mustang rims for more sidewell and a lighter weight wheel. They are very lightweight. I have a set of them with nittos on them sitting next to my garage. You can slap a 255 nitto drag or better yet a 255 BFG drag radial on them.

If you are going to get a mustang 17 do not get a cobra R or bullit wheel. They are 23-27 pound ranging on who makes the replica. Steeda makes the ultralite which is a very good 17 inch to run.

Go to Jegs. Weld racing wheels 15X8 for $173/wheel. Strong and light. Check out their tire selection also.

I would look on a local mustang forum and find a set of 15X8 welds with "tire" on them. You should be able to pick up a pair between 200 and 400 with wheels and tires.
