Interesting results at the Atlanta Dragway tonight, video and timeslip...
Year One was having a car show at their headquarters in Braselton, so I decided to meet some GTO friends there, who were entering their cars in the show.
After the show, they were hosting a 2 hour test and tune at the Atlanta Dragway, located in Commerce.
Now I wasn't expecting too much, as it was hot today, and the track sits at 1,200 feet in elevation. I normally run 3/10ths + slower there than at the other SE tracks. I also trap about 2 mph slower.
I went anyway, curious about the slave cylinder, since I only got 3 runs at Carolina Dragway. After leaving the Carolina Dragway, I filled up with Shell gas. I had run BP at Carolina Dragway, and was well under a 1/4 tank. Going home I burned off about 1/4, and a little more going to the show and track tonight, leaving between one half and 3/4 of a tank, but the car felt really strong since the fill up.
Long story short, I set a new Commerce PB, beating my last times out here noticably, while raising my trap by almost 2 mph. Keep in mind this is a slow track, so I am thrilled with the results, and think that I could have run 104- 105 mph at Carolina Dragway, dropping off another 3/10ths plus from my results here. Hmmmm.
Anyway, here is the timeslip and video, where I get smoked by a C5 running a 100 shot, but you can still see the best pass. I also ran a couple of other 13.5's, and trapped in the mid 102's. I launched at 3K rpms, letting the clutch out very quickly, to avoid pressure loss. I will get the video up soon. The DA was 3,017 feet!
