Intake and exhuast should be good for another 10hp. So stock no he wouldn't have taken you, stage I or II it would have been a toss up, if he has other bolt ons like the intake and exhuast he could very easily have a chance at walking your 350z. Now in a drag race the 350z should have the advantage simply due to it being RWD; but he was talking about a rolling start on the hwy
People rag on the 4cyl FI cars out there but you have to realize that stock they aren't far off from the 350z and secondly it takes very little money to make them faster than the 350z. Thats why I'm surprised Nissan hasn't made a 20k FI 4cyl car instead of the SE-R. While the SE-R isn't bad it can't compete with the likes of the SRT-4, cobalt SS, and WRX. Hopefully he'll show at the track and you can tell us the outcome

And what are we comparing? Street tire vs street tire? If you take a 03-06 Z with street tires vs a Cobalt on DR's then sure, from a dig it might be close (Z still wins tho). From a roll? The cobalt has a very peaky powerband -- Z pulls no problem.

A friend has a gm stage 2 kit, intake and exhuast. From a roll it's me with a car from 40 kick(n/a with drop in filter, y pipe, spacer and test pipes)... at the drag strip he runs 13.7-14.2 from 100-103mph.

I'm sorry this thread is just ironic to me. When my car was in to get me assist cylinder on the clutch, they gave me an AT cobalt, tho not an ss. I was soooooooooooooooo pissed. But after driving that and reading this I dont see wtd GM could do to make it feel like a sportscar, even a sports sedan at that.
I kissed my Z when I finally got it back. Never fail people want to **** with you when your in the rental and not in your super doper sportscar.

GM Performance makes stages of upgrades for it... I've got a friend with one, and I've ridden in it. He had a stage two upgrade, whatever's involved with that. It was less than satisfying. My Z would kill it any day.
