5k launches = broke axle
Well I posted pix here https://my350z.com/forum/event-photos/306627-pix-from-the-track-today.html
Anyway some friends rented the track and I was launching around 5k to 5,500 I made about 9 passes then on the tenth I broke my driver side axle. Anyone else had this problem? Or upgraded their axles?

What tires? How much power? What were you running 60ft wise?
I broke the shaft on a stock one on the street. Ive also broken the inner CV joint on my 2nd pass with DSS Level 5 axles! I feel your pain...btw-how were you launching? Always PRELOAD the drivetrain!

I might not have been launching right? I have Mickey Thompson ET streets, I just have APS TTs exhaust test pipes and susp. it's at 9psi and spiking 11. I'm guessing I have 420-450ish hp. The best 60 I had right before it broke was a 1.7 I had 1.8s before that. I just started doing my burnouts in 2nd with the break fuse out, and I just pull up to the line hold it on 5,000 slip the clutch a tiny bit and it usually doesn't spin. How do I preload the drivetrain?
there's probably other companies that have them too, but I know AAM carries at least 2 different sets of axels:

Not really sure yet, it's at the Nissan dealer right now, where it happen is an hour and half from where I live. The dealer isn't fixing it, just had to leave it there until I got a car hauler. I think that it broke the inner, it looks to still be in one piece. At first I thought it was the tranny, but it would still go into first and reverse, I backed up about 2 inches and it made a horrible noise.
So are you kind of feathering it? Whatever you are doing it is working great! a 1.6 is superb!! the best I had was a 1.7, what was the best you ran with your motor stock and just the turbos on?
Turbonetics was a mild 1.7 60ft, ran 11.98 and two 11.99's back to back at 114-116mph. That was under 400whp...
What I do is blip the gas usually from say 4000-4500rpm's watch the tree and when the light drops I go from blipping therottle to slowly applying it while letting out the clutch. It makes the transition very smooth for me, and has worked for my buddies as well. When I hold a set rpm @ the line I bog when launching. Aceman here in MD ran .1 faster 60ft's immediately after using this technique, he is now running 13.0 NA...

I can tell you from experience, this car does not like launch control to be used
, and your method is best, and safest.
I will try it at least once. thanks for the help guys. keep in mind bristol where i go is the slowest track ever!!! lol i am planning on try some other tracks in the near future.
we have tons of 1.5s on stock axles. its all about that fine line of barely slipping the clutch and fully releasing it.
i am sure some axles are stronger for some different years, we both have 03s that are launching hard here...
good luck !!!

Since i have been using this technique and installed the 4.08 gears i have really improved my times at the strip.. I was running a best of 13.3 no matter what i tried. Now i am on the verge of hitting some 12's with a full interior car minus the passenger seat and spare.
Thanks again for the advise Bert.
I have snapped a axle aswell, but that was by not preloading the drivetrain. Keep the clutch right at the engagement point with out the car moving.
