I have beaten LT1 cars....both manual ones and auto's with I/E

However in the two races i've had with stock LS1 cars i get edged out by just a bit.

Yeah, I've been on forums with him for a while and hes not a bad guy.

I dunno if he has a clue who I am but I've been on Bimmerforums forever and recognize his username. He got attacked a bit and got overly defensive and things escalated. At this point its just something to poke fun at.

1/8th mile, it's close. 1/4 mile you can hang it up if you don't have an 07 Z.

Well to the thread starter if you can drive good you'd have a really good chance against my LS1 GTO A4. All I have is diablosport tune, K&N CAI, and TB Bypass. When my car was stock I had the misfortune of running into Warren(VeeTec) and his '07 Z this past summer. He beat me by almost a full second(14.6 to his 13.7). Yeah my car was heatsoaked but it wouldn't have mattered.

The best I've been able to muster so far is a 13.8 at 100 so you would have a great chance against the heavy LS1 GTO A4's.

I will try to get those slips as soon as I can in the Z

Thanks Peak Those Bimmer guys crack me up sometimes but the active ones at the meets are much cooler than the board trolls

I will add I ran a WS6 from a 50 roll in my EK hatch years ago....it had gears and exhaust so you can imagine how many buslengths he put on me....good run though and one of my first LS1 matchups....probably a 108-110 car minimum lol

I ran into a LS1 GTO one night. He had an intake and a 3 inch cat-back. From a roll, he slowly pulled to about a car length. From a Dig, I was the better driver, and I got him by half a car. I have K&N filter and Test Pipes.

Was it a A4 or 6spd?? I have no problem launching this A4 but the 6spd is alot harder to launch. I have mad respect for the 350Z's. They're not even built for the straight line but they hold their own.

Thanks for living in the past and contributing to the Z vs Ws6 discussion Did you pull over after and ask for corrected 1/4 times from the guy or are those estimates? Surely he wouldnt trap 108-110mph in the 33K foot DA you run in...

I know you are 'trying' to be funny.... but it doesn't matter what the DA was because they were both equally affected. Whatever one car lost/gained in power the other one did, that's kind of how it works.

The Z is harder to launch. Independent rear suspension doesn't like that to much. But the GTO was a 6spd to answer your question.

I was under the impression that the GTO's has IRS as well?

I'm not sure, I don't pay attention to GTO's. All I know is, from a dig, I got him.

Yeah, and softer springs/shocks, which makes it more prone to wheel hop given the massive low end torque of the LSx

Yep...but don't let that fool you...those bastages can tag 1.9 60fts with a good driver over and over again....

A gto with IRS can completely outlaunch an F-Body with a straight axle.

IRS isn't as bad as it used to be.

I know, I launch just fine with it, but its harder to get a good launch on the GTO than the Z because of the higher torque levels and softer suspension.

Actuallly come to think of it..you guys get better 60fts than our straight axle setups... jeesh..

I know what you are saying peak. Most of the GTOs I've seen do nothing but wheelhop like crazy....
