Getting off to a great start here....we do not advocate street racing here. So I guess what you are asking is did you make the right choice???

I've owned quite a few F bodies. The LS1 V8 responds VERY WELL to upgrades too. It's pretty easy to obtain mid to low 12's out of an Ls1 car. My buddies bone stock 01 WS6 Trans-Am 6 speed and ran 13.2's @ 108mph all day long at the track with 2.1 60ft times.

So...assuming you're referring to a drag race: With an 03z, stock to stock, you're probably going to loose a somewhat close race and modified to modified you have no real chance.

Both are sweet cars though!

a ws6 would beat you HORRIBLY. I really mean that. My friend has a stock one that runs flat 13's consistently

See Sig...

An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1....... so don't caught up with all of the WS6/SS propaganda (if it were true I would have been running high 13s )

Results may vary slightly (Autos tend to be a tick slower with a few mph less traps) but I've seen WS6, SS, Z28 and Formula Autos running 13.0~13.1 stock before so don't take that to the bank.

I actually ran a 02 WS6 3x's with my stock 03 Tour about a year and a half ago. I won every time but only because he could launch the car. The first time he spun through 2 gears, the 2nd time he didn't spin but just didn't get out fast enough. The 3rd he spun again. To answer your question, equal drivers, non modded cars, the Z will most likely loose. Not as bad as some of these guys are making it sound though.

13.1 @ 108 on a 2.1 60ft vs ?? Unless we are talking an 07 with Veetec or 350Peak at the wheel it's going to be bad. (equal drivers of course which is why I threw those two in, though I believe both of them to be better than myself.)

I own both a 2001 TransAm Ws6 and a 2006 350z and I would have to say the Transam is significantly faster.
