I have nothing to benefit by making this up. I am just informing people of what an 07 stock Z is doing at the track in the hands of an average driver...

Thanks for manning up to your mistake....

I met a Nick that night at moroso and he was in an 06 blue 6 speed base z.

He first told me it was stock and then he mentioned he had test pipes and gained 15whp....

The best he managed was 13.8 @ 102....

well for him to be putting down the same trap as me he must be putting down around the same power, he said he gained 15whp from the test pipes and maybe he got it tuned? That might put him near 07 HR stock power... That trap seems way to low for any kind of shot of nitrous. The rev-up engine (2006) have great top end power and 3rd and 4th are known to be their strongest gears.

What kind of car were you driving?

i have an 06 Black GLI 6 Speed, APR STAGE II+ Beta, H&R SPORT SPRINGS, Full 3" Custom Turbo Back Exhaust, Stage 2+ clutch w/ Spec Steel flywheel, AEM Cold Air Intake.....

i've raced 350z from a dig and thats a good race but from a roll i will usually pull on them.... especially if there stock.... a close race in a Z or G is an intake and an exhaust w/ test pipes... thats pretty even w/ me b/c i pull at low end and they catch up at top end around 80mph+ but than we stay pretty even.... it matters about the driver..... but he said he was stock and he pulled me 4+ cars.... and than he raced around 8 more people and i wanted to run him again and he wouldn't run anyone anymore.....(ran out of spray) what i think..... and when he went to moroso, he wasn't sprayin

makes sense.... i used to have an 03 gti 5 speed 1.8t with apr chip with v-tune, clutch/lightweight flywheel, intake, full 3inch exhaust, turbo inlet pipe, intercooler hoses and methanol injection... best i got on 100oct setting of the apr chip was a 13.9 @ 101. I would be a good race from rolls with 350z's.

Just keep in mind 03-05 engine = 287hp
06 engine = 300hp
07 engine = 306+hp

Depending on the year and engine and ofcourse driver you raced will cause the outcome to vary some...

Do you have a 2.0 or a 1.8?

Best thing to do would be to run him at the track...

I could meet up and take a look over and under his car to see if he has anything to hide...

I am going back to the track tomorrow to see if I can cut my 60ft down to a 2.0 and shoot for a 13.3-13.5. I will post my slips... still stock.

I don't think 13.6 is bad at all for my first time out with the car!

Oh yea and my first run I sat there spinning through first and second and got a 3.0 60ft.... like I mentioned it was my first time to the track with this car.
If I'm no longer in contention for stock, and jdfolco (sp on username) had to get bumped to bolt on, I don't think its fair he is either.

I switched to GT wheels (weigh more and have less sidewall) and Jdfolco got heavier wheels with a harder tire and were both told, stock tire or bolt on list....

So he technically isn't stock in flowerholders defense

I can tell from the timeslip that it's not a modded HR Z, unless it has mods which aren't going to help the Z's 1/4 mile time or trap in any way.

Great work for a first day at the track!!

if he had fujita intakes u wouldnt be able to tell by his times...if he had a nismo exhaust you wouldnt be able to tell by his times. So technically you can be modded and run those times. Sometimes modded cars pull off worse times then stock cars lmao.

And in those cases it really doesn't matter then, does it? There aren't any good intake mods to my knowledge for the HR yet. I would consider anything Nismo to be stock since a Nismo trim level car would have it and it still gets ranked right along with the rest of the trim levels. Just look at the stock times and you'll see a Nismo in there.

Nismo Zs run slower times 1/4 wise then stock HRs. lol, but you would expect that because 350z especially nismo models where not made with the least bit of a 1/4 in mind lol unless a turn was at the end.

But you get my point. For example, if he had a mod that added 25 more low range torque, you'd see it in his 60' times. Unless he was spinning, but then you'd see it in his trap speed (even with a slower 1/4 time) because he'd have more rolling inertia to slingshot him once he did hook up. I'm simply saying that any mods that really add anything will be noticable somewhere in the timeslip.

Like if he ran a 12.8@109mph 1/4 but had a 2.2 60'... something is amiss there...
