Default rev or cool down?

at the track tonight i saw people keeping there cars off as much as possible, and others reeving up waitin to race.. i always try and keep my car off.. anyways i dont even know if it really matters, any thoughts?

You want the car to be at operating temperature, which is right about 174. However, you also don't want it to be heat soaked. So, let it idle until the temp gauge is right at the middile, and then keep it at that temp.

Also watch that your oil pressure is low at idle (for an 07 its about 20-25 psi) indicating your oil is up to temp. If its not, let the car run,

I don't have a great concern for temperature except July and August when the ambient temperature gets to 90 degrees plus. I try to keep down the intake temperature with a bag of ice on top of the plenum.

i have one of those kinetixs plenums.. its not metal like the stock one, it never gets hot, would the ice still work... az gets really hot (im sure you were aware) and i want to keep racing through some of the summer
