Default SFI Jacket - NHRA Rules

I was just reading the NHRA rules and it states that all drivers of vehicles (reagardless of of ET) with non-oem turbochargers, superchargers, etc must wear an SFI rated racing jacket. I forget the SFI number, but I have never seen anyone in the sportsman lanes wearing those racing jackets.

always a good idea to have good safety equipment.

I just wasn't sure if tracks were really enforcing this rule. I have never seen the guys in the slow lanes wearing nomex racing jackets, and wasn't sure if it was a new rule or just a non-enforced rule.

I wear the Simpson 3-2AI jacket and Bradenton has become stricter about wearing them. Bought it from Jegs.com

I have a jacket, neck brace and SA helmet from when I had my Maxima in the low 11's. I intend to wear it all when I run the G this summer. When your rolling 100+ MPH onthe big end you cant be too safe. Wifey and kiddies are owed at leat that!

Yes, they are a REQUIREMENT. If tracks choose to not enforce them, that's their own deal. I bought an entire suit from Jegs. Might as well have even more safety.
