I ran a 14.137 at baytowm in houston. 110.31 trap speed. I have
a nismo intake with borla exhaust .The track was pretty slick and my stock tires aren't too good for the strip. I think the heat slowed me down. Its my very first time at the strip, so that's ok right?

Yes 101. 110 is just a little optimistic!

I'm impressed that so few mods bring the 8 into Z-1/4-mile-range.

Good stuff!

How's the gas mileage? I've heard that the RX is worse than the Z... I'm getting around 16-18 city and 22-24 highway (with a lead foot). How does your modded 8 compare?

What track are you at? I don't like Baytown. I'm going to go back to the track when my headers finally get in.

damn...13.6 with just intake, exhaust and cats is pretty good. My best time is 13.8 with intake and exhaust. I just put the helix test pipes on yesterday....going back out to HRP in Baytown Thursday to see if they helped out any...if not they still sound bad ***. You guys should come. There was a Z meet last Thursday, about 15 or so Z"s were there. It was pretty fun.

The Rt cats are probably one of the best upgrades out there for the Z. I have the DC Sports stainless steel headers on backorder. I was there at baytown with the Z club , what was your best time that night?

...I couldn't get under 14 that night. I couldn't get my launch right...spun too much. Best time that night was a 14 flat. The week before I ran a 13.8. How much of my time do you think my test pipes will knock off?

BTW-what was the best price you found on the headers?

13.4 would be good with those mods....13.6 can be attained stock.

Well that doesn't may me feel that bad then, I only ran a 14.1 that night, same thing, couldn't get a launch. Can't say about the test pipes. I know that the chokepoint of our exhausts is the cats. The thing is the engines do require a little backpressure. Test pipes normally give high end HP, and in some cases they lose low end torque. I've heard good things about high flow cats, but I can't tell you about Helix, or any test pipes for that matter. Post your times on thurs, I am very interested. Thinking of Helix myself.

How do the helix pipes sound, noticably louder? Are they raspy? Was the fit good, any check engin lights? This is a mod I am strongly considering.

I love them. No problem with fitment and no lights came on! (That's the only thing I was worried about) I have the Borla TD and it did make it a whole lot louder. There's hardly any raspyness-I mean you can hear a SLIGHT raspyness when you get on it in the higher RPM range but nothing that makes me want to take them off. It's sounds more like a v8 now rather than a v6. I love em.

I was wondering when you would chime in, that was the fastest time that night for a non aspirated Z.
