Listen...i made this thread to ask how can i lower times..it's up to you if you want to believe that i have the cars..
Get the 60 foot down to 2.0 seconds and you will be running better than 13.1 seconds. Whether you are running 250 or 550 horsepower, you will have to develop a technique to get you out of the hole successfully.
I assume that you are at 80 degrees with 50 percent humidity: not the best conditions for ET.

sorry bro i misread you...
but yeah your right. feathering is letting the clutch out and pushing it back in until you pick up traction. ie: as your letting the clutch out the tires start to spin... push the clutch in just enough to where the tires stop, but yours still moving. then go back to letting the clutch out. sounds hard, and it does take some practice, but its the best method, imo
i dont have any drag experience with my Z yet, but i have been drag racing for 13 years. i have driven everything from jr dragsters to a motorcycle powered dragster, to my current 555ci undercover chassis dragster. ive got the creds, trust me.
btw: i wasnt tryin to bash on you, just makin sure your for real

forgot to add this...but recently there was a match @ my local track that was Puerto Rico VS Dominican Republic..and cars that made 8sec in PR made 9 Here..so maybe the track is not that good for drag racing..I saw a Stock Z making 14.6 here..so maybe that is part of the problem..and most of those times on the webpage that i posted was using DR...
read everything on www.rangeracceleration.com
that site describes how to get the best time out of a z06, but the same thing can be applied to any high power rwd car
take the burn out instructions with a grain of salt, different tires require different burn out lengths, so don't over heat the tires.
for a beginner drag racer, i'd suggest starting out trying to launch at very low rpms (1500 rpm or so). as you learn how to put down the power from that rpm, increase 3-500 rpm, and keep working your way up until your putting down 2.0's to 1.9's or consistantly. then with your power, drag radials would be a smart investment after you learn how to handle the power on street tires.
also, sorry about not believing you about your car, its not that your 21 and have 2 cars, its that we get alot of wannabe's on this forum who pretend to have this and have that when they don't.

just try swapping out to a DR set-up. I find the 120trap hard to believe with 450rwhp on a dynojet though. If you are just all about parts that make you faster, then get those. If you like to make yourself faster so that you don't need to buy extra parts, or wait till you can actually use them to their capabilities, then just go to the track more often, and pick the brains of the people that are down there racing with you. I found that for me the best thing that worked on street tires was to rev the motor to about 2500-3krpm, and slowly let out the clutch so you don't spin or hop all the way down the track. About 3/4 throttle once clutch is all the way out, then in 2nd gear, smash it, if you break lose then reduce throttle a littel bit then lay into it again. I'm sure my way is wrong since I am also pretty new to drag racing with a car that can actually do something at the strip, and also my first manual transmission car. Hope this helps, and just have fun (if you truely own the vehicle).
