yeah, i strongly doubt i'll be ANYWHERE near that. I've never even ran the 1/4...so i'd probably do horrible. We'll see how much the other "track" races i've been in help me...

 

I ran an 11.9 with just the single turbo(no NO2) which dyno'd at 360whp. I did have drag radials so on street tires my car is probably good for a 12.3.

Anyway, I'm going off my experiences when I ran just NO2. For example, I ran the 150 shot with crappy DR's(not the set I use now), I raced a Slightly modded Cobra with MT DR's and beat him with a 12.3 run.

If you guys are on street tire, the extra trq is going to hurt your boy off the line and with similar HP, I doubt he'll be a able to catch you if you get the jump.

It will only play out like this if you have better tires and can drive decent. I don't think you'll embarrass yourself unless you absolutely don't feel comfortable with your car.

 

cool, this is the kinda feedback i was after. I'm very comfortable driving the Z...I've been beating on it for 2 years now (sadly, the longest i've ever owned a car). We are both on street tires...T1rs here and KDWSs (winter KDWs) for him.

As far as his comfort in the car...he let me drive it...and was astounded at my shifts in the car....which I wasn't even really trying to power shift yet. So I might be able to get an upper hand there.

I know of a track that I used to race on all the time...now it's just a matter of convincing him it's a good track to use.

We already talked...and to help make it a little more of a cars race...we are going to race each other in our own cars...as well as swap cars and race. I'll try to get some vids of it if I can get my woman to tape it!!

 

You won't know until you actually race him. He could lose traction, you could lose traction etc. Someone could miss a shift.
BTW: my 03 Touring weighs 3360# with no gas, spare, tools etc. Race ready, so your estimate was very close.

 

Stock for stock NO..

With your mods, if you can drive you will beat him EASILY.

If he was the best driver in the world he is looking at mid 12s @ 114mph (12.4 @ 113 I think is the record)...

Most people who drive well see 12.6~12.8 @ 112~113mph bone stock... and your average driver is going to run 12.9 ~ 13.1 with similar mph. Anyone who has not driven one at a strip should to see 13s but they are tricky to launch I've seen 14s from a bad launch....

 

and i have seen 15.2's from a 03 cobra with some dumb blonde girl driving

 

haha..exactly my point...bad driver is going to result is really bad times.

when I barely got my HR (in the learning process driving a stick) i raced a cobra and i had a good launch and jumped ahead but i missed 2nd. But i was shocked that i got ahead. I thought i was gunna get smoked hearing that SC whin. but yeah thats my story with the cobra

It was pretty stinkin close. I took him once...but I might have jumped it a little bit....he took me once....but i definitely bogged it off the start.

I left knowing that it's gonna be very close. Definitely worth shootin vids over

Was pretty fun tho...either way, his car is pretty sweet...and i can't talk too much trash...he's bone stock...i'm way not...

I've ran a few 03-04 Cobra's, not 1 was stock. The least modded one I ran had a ported blower exhaust and a diablo chip and it wasn't even close. From a roll I drug him by about 2 cars. From a dig it was only about a car. I put down 411whp @ 8.4 on a DJ.
