you'll lose, unless the other driver is absolutely incompetent.

right next to it on youtube is a race between the same M3 (I think) and a 350Z and the Z gets smoked worse than the cobra. Trap speed doesn't mean crap in a drag race though.

The op's original question is can he beat a BONE STOCK Terminator.
THIS is a Z running 9psi against a Cobra w/ pulley, exhaust and other bolt ons which make a HUGE difference on a Cobra.

OP if you run him from a dig you will probably have a good run on your hands. Maybe close. Go from a roll and you should beat him easily.

personally, imo i think if youre a good driver you should win, looking at youre compet. aviator he is a convertible cobra which is heavier. That alone is something that is youre favor.cobras are known for their power but it can also hurt them if someone is behind the wheel that cannot drive. It also can come down to a drivers race.Just be careful and stay focused let us know the outcome

in the interest of time i will suffice it to say you couldnt be more wrong on the importance of trap speed.

also in defense for the z the cobra driver cant shift.....i was able to get what ground i could from his time consuming shifts and hold him off until 115 when he runs away from me. that cobra properly driven should have lost little if any ground to me. another large factor you neglect is that the cobra had a 225lb ballast in the form of a passenger.

i was assuming the z in question was n/a....since its boosted i dont have an opinion because i have no experience with boosted 350z's.

That is about what they dyno stock.

My friend who drove her convertible pretty well was doing 12.8 at 110 bone stock. she now has about 630 at the wheels

The average driver I see runs 13.0-13.4 at 108.

Can you run a 12? If so yo should win. If this is both of you guys' first down the 1320 at these power levels, you are both going to suck. I say go practice first! If he is a seasoned mustang owner and can drive, you might want to leave the internet racing alone, buy some drag radials and go practice!

If you want an analysis, your dyno 370 on a dyno dynamics and were 3300 lbs before you put on the turboor sc kit.

.
I can post a time slip of a 13.1 with a trap of 87 mph to support my statement. Actually there is one in the drag section in the davidv thread on bracket racing. There is a VW at Infineon that consistantly turns 12.5 or so with a 102-103mph trap speed. I believe that time slip is in there too. I do and have done drag racing since I was 16, so I feel confident with my statement.

Here you go..check out car #51. That is the VW I talked about in the above post. You could say. 106mph trap. I could kill him.....NOT!
Again, trap doesn't get you a win.

Coming from a Slowbra guy I think from a dig you would have your hands full with the broad torque curve of these cars. But with your much lighter weight and similar power I think you would pull it out from a roll. Kilgore is a rather negative person on SVTP anyway, I'd like to see some vid's of you beating him!

I have seen a stock cobra (03 SC) run a 12.6@112.

They are beasts and respond lightning fast to mods.
Even if it were bone stock as you say it is.....i wouldnt want to race it...unless you are supremely confident in your drag abilities.

Unfortunately man I missed it. I was busting *** to get my car back together to go, but two days before I was going to leave I had a fuel injector leak on my and ruin the paint on the plenum and coil covers. Everythings good to go now, but I missed it this year. I heard the turnout was bigger than ever this year though.

uhhhh, no. dynodynamics reads lower than dynojet. you must be thinking of a dynapack, which reads higher than a dynojet

how bout i correct you. when youre racing. a car that runs 13.5 at 105 vs a car that runs 13.0 at 100, the car running the slower trap speeds wins the race. not sure where the question is there. now if youre talking about a street race thats different, but this is the drag section and the race in question is a 1/4 mi race
