If you go through the water box do a dry burnout to get off any water that may be on the tires(this is my method others may disagree). Torque brake the car at 2200rpms and go on the last yellow light. When I launch I usually do 75% throttle for about 1 sec or until my tires stop spinning then go 100%. I always shift at redline and because the auto shifts slow you want to shift a few hundred rpms early. I usually get 2.0's easy doing it this way. Is the car on stock rims?

Yup thats how. After 2200 the tires break loose. Also when I ran my 19's it slowed me down one tenth exaclty. Also weather and DA may hold you back from breaking 13's so make sure you go on a good track day. Has he gone to the track with it yet?
