Default Auto 04 Touring PB Finally!!

So I finally ran something other than a 13.8 tonight haha. My first run right off of the highway was a 13.7@102. After that run I knew I was going to get at least a 13.6 out of the car so I let it cool down for a while and removed the air filter since it was real dirty. My next run was a 13.555@103 with a 1.9 60'! When I lauched the car that time it hooked hard and put me back into my seat. All the runs after that were 13.6's at 102 with 2.0 60's. My mods are a md 1/2 spacer, strup test pipes, an x02 exhaust and on street tires. Now I need a tune and consistant 1.9 60's. Here the scan of my best time.

I torque brake the car at 2200rpms and go on the last yellow light. When I launch I usually do 75% throttle for about 1 sec or until my tires stop spinning then go 100%. I always shift at redline and because the auto shifts slow you want to shift a few hundred rpms early. I usually get 2.0's easy doing it this way.

I thought I was the only one to rev in the low 2000 RPM's. good times though.

Have you raced on stock tires before? if so how much of a difference is it compared to the falkens in regards to wheel spin or wheel hop?

Its about the same really. My best time on stock tires are in the top racers thread and the best with the falkens are in my sig. My best 60' on my stock tires was a 2.005 and I've pulled 2 1.9's on the falkens so far.

The best I've gotten on stock tires is a 2.02... I'd like to get 1.9's. I'll get some better tires, soon as my stockers are done. Do wider aftermarket wheels with a wider and lower tire profile help or harm traction? anyone?

I ran on 19's almost all last year and was still pulling 2.0's but they slowed me down .1 tenth. I'm sure this was due to the added weight. What is your best time so far? I see your making same crazy power with that auto.

I haven't got to 1/4 mile drag strip, I've gone to a 1/8 mile track twice.

My best so far is. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but out of the two times i've gone to the track, my 2nd race on both race days seems to my best races and they seem to be against tough cars, both wins. I don't know if I'm just doing better under pressure.

best run so far is..

60':2.02
330" 5.64
1/8: 8.60
MPH:82.66

Not bad. With that amount of power you should see 12's easy with stickier tires. My first run is always the worst when I go to the track with both my cars. Mainly because our motors hate heat and I run it as soon as I get there. I've always run my best time after letting the car cool down for at least 45 mins.

I don't know what tires to get, I want street tires, but tirerack.com doesn't show tires from every company. I don't know if Nittos, Falkens, Toyo, Yokohama's are better than the tires they sell or not. If there's someone who can enlightened me it would be nice. I'd like street tires, that will be beneficial in drag enough to get my 60' into the low 1.9's , still has some wet weather traction, and I don't deal with snow or ice.

I'm not an expert on tires but most of the guys I know that drag race use nitto 555 tires. Im sure someone here can answer that question for you though.
