This is a drag racing forum. Time slips appreciated. Anything else is…well…academic.

he counted 1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi 3 Mississippi 4 Mississippi 5 Missi.. He only finished less than half of the word so that is why he got 5.27sec...... J/K. Either he used a stop watched or an accelerometer like Gtech or software base one you can install on Iphone. An accelerometer is more accurate than a stop watch.

sorry for the lack of documentation. it as a g timer i know they arnt perfict but there pretty close. but honestly i think most of the time it reads slow. i took it to the drag strip once and it said 14.1 i the track said 14.0 but still ever if the time is 1 ten off a 5.37 is pretty good for a dusty road and 50 temp. i just got excited cause i normaly only pull 5.6 5.5 was my old record. i dont get to take it to the track as much as i would like to

i figured id take some flaming for not having it on paper but i could post pics of the g timer screen

i would have given the 1/4 mile time but i didnt have enough road to finish.
this is also the first time ive ever launched the car with out caring if i break it.

a "sterio" is: some one that thinks there funny for pointing out spelling mistakes that people carlessly make

oh and it was on a very level road... we have plenty of those in ohio

I have a Gtech and they are pretty accurate compare to my 1/4 time at the track. My Gtech ET was .05-.07 slower compare to my actual time ( I had 13.430 ET and Gtech got 13.50). My trap speed was also close and pretty much .3mph slower compare to my 1/4 mile Trap (Track had me 11.01mph and Gtech got 110.73). I think that is pretty good for Gtech to be less than .1 off on the ET and also less than .5mph off on the Trap Speed.

Cool. I had a G-Tech last time I was at the track and it read about .1s slower then the actual time. My 0-60 time average with the G-Tech is 4.8s both ways on the road.

The G-tech is great fun.

That just arent very credible still to many real drag racers. It seems as though perhaps they have become more accurate and all, but its gonna be hard for many to believe. I will have to get one though one day and try it out.

I guess its a pretty cool tool to play with and do comparisons. Unfortunately the numbers mean little in this forum.

/\ Why not? It is not car dependent... Are we talking about the same product here.. http://www.gtechpro.com/ If you are going to get one then pay more and get the RR.. Well worth it.

G-techs are relatively accurate, in our experience (within 0.05-0.1s) for times up to about 13.0s. The first-gen g-tech appears to be more accurate than the 2nd-gen when compared to actual 1/4 mile times. What you have to remember when using it against the quarter mile time slip is that the g-tech "knows" when you have gone 1320' and gives you a time and trap. The trap would be the actual speed you are going after 1320'. At the track, the final xx feet are timed and divided into distance to give your average speed over those feet. That means that the g-tech should read slightly higher in speed. Keep a log, it can help you find ideal launch and shift points - all relative at the very least.

I pulled a 2.9s 0-60 on drag radials with my first gen G-tech. Talk about a rush.

It has the same issue the dyno tachs have with my car. it can't detect the tach signal.... I have the GTECH Pro RR i think, the one that u can put on the computer for 0-60,hp,tq, autocross, and etc. it worked well on my other car

This is all the reason why the first-gen g-tech is the best.

You just plugged it to your cigarette lighter and you just need to calibrate it. Mine work.... I just need to calibrate it again coz my Utec logs were 100 rpm lower compare to my Gtech. You dont really need the Tach if you just want to find out your 60sec, 1/4mile..etc There is probably wrong with your Unit.
