Default went to the track yesterday need advice for improvement

So I went to the track yesterday for my second time ever, the 1st time I only got about 2 runs so it didnt really help much and managed a 13.7xx at 100.xx with a 2.19x 60'.
I have a 08 base 6mt with nismo wheels with 285/40/18 Rear 255/40/18 Front Toyo T1Rs , spare and jack removed.
Temp was in the mid 60s i believe. I got 4 runs in which sucked but whatever.

Ill post a pic of my best time when i get a chance but ill just type it up for now

R/T .924
60' 2.341
330 6.020
1/8 9.013
MPH 82.92
1000 11.571
1/4 13.720
MPH 104.95

my first time i could barely break into 100mph trap speeds but now im trapping at almost 105 and still the same ET . I realize its my 60' foot but how when i had a 2.19x 60' i ran a 13.7xx at 100.xx now i have a way worse 60 and my ET hasnt changed and trap is way better than before.

Does the HR gain a little more power after break in?

you dont need advice....your times are good. Mid 13's with a 104 trap is solid. congrats.

Maybe a bit too agressive off the line? Clutch slipping at all? Nice and easy is how I launch and I stay at 2.1 ~ 2.0 60fts... I would check Veetec or Pats methods..they seem to have really good luck launching. Bring that 60ft down and you will go 13.5 for sure. Honestly I see no reason why your car wouldn't go 13.2 ~ 13.3 as it sits (just dropping to a 2.0 60ft should be enough even)...

^^ launch at 2750 and slipping the clutch . Thank you guys I also believe I can get very low 13s the way it is, just gotta work on that 60' and what bothers me the most is that when I do go to the track I only get a couple runs and just when I start to get the hang of it its over
im still a noob at this so improvement is on the way

Throw some DR's on there. That trap is easily good for LOW 13's.

Remember a little bit of wheelspin is good! Keep practicing...

yep yep, practicing is def on my to do list for the next couple of days then hopefully friday will yield better results. i keep chirping well not really, more like spinning a lil in my 1-2 shift and even when i try not to i still do its frustrating.

Granted we have different rides..but here is an idea of how my 'best' launches are.. (apologize for the quality.. cheap camera)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMgeJkCKOTQ
2.1 60ft (nothing to brag about really... but a very soft launch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDROwJM_Q24

Here is the Fiancee launching... she cut a 1.99 60ft... nice and soft launch. Slipping the clutch out and no audible wheelspin (if she could shift like me should would have beaten me much worse than she did)..

Anyways.. just a couple examples of the launch to compare notes... I think some 350Z guys here have some vids that can post up that might be more beneficial. Sometimes (for me at least) it helps to 'see' how others are launching so I know what to shoot for.

^^ lol dang that girl can launch pretty good with your shifting she would prob be in 12s u should be proud of her, very good times for a stock Z28... yea i would like to see an interior video like the rpm gauge and foot work of some of the very low 13s 350z drivers but thats asking for too much, ill just practice a lil more and hopefully get it down to a 2.0 which should get me into low 13s

Yeah you should have seen my face when she launched... I saw her times pop on the board and knew I was never going to hear the end of it. haha... I always laugh when people want to race my car with her driving because they know I can drive and think she can't.

That would be very cool..I wonder how hard it would be to rig something like that up... multiple cameras and have the all overlayed. Someone should talk Veetec into doing it.
