Maybe he's just crazy and decided to put slicks on a "mostly stock" car?
Does this mean that if I put slicks on mine I'll drop into the 12's?

This will be long
I started with a 1981 280zx, so I know Nissans. When I read about 370z having oil overheating & engine vibration at higher rpm(new tech in valve system) problems, AND the mags. showing the same 1/4 times for both 08 350 & 09 370 around 13.8 1/4 mile, I decided on buying the 08 Z. Saved 10k & I knew I had a reliable, proven, best of the 350's (07/08).
It was mid 2010 winter & I wanted to see what it could do. Found a good track in West Palm Florida. I knew any rpm 3,000 + lights up the tires to an undrivable point.
I chose M/T street/drag radials 275-40-17 on heavy 5ziger wheels. My first day at W. Palm Dragway(ex. track) the first 3 runs, my clutch pedal stuck on the floor & I could not shift to second(slave cyl. recall). The smell of burning clutch & my dissapointment was, lets just say "burning the car". 4th run & on it worked! I was running 13.2 to 13.5 with best 13.195(posted on 370 site), except when I lit the tires up. Since talking with M/T corp. 3 times, they told me these tires are for auto trans. "word"
To get 1.80's I need to keep rpm below 4k rpm.
In the spring I went to Raceway Park N.J. Pure stock except for M/T's. Times were 13.3 then my last run 13.4 & felt something wrong, Burned out cluth!!! I almost didn't make it home.
To the end of story
M/T tires(but can't leave hard), new street cluth w alum. fly wheel, no improvment in times, none. Just 2 weeks ago I had Burk test pipes & matching engine mix to the pipes, days later & I'm in the 12's. STOCK intake, headers, & mufflers. When they make tires that will hold 5k+ launches, I should do 12.8 or better. sorry for the lenght

Not exactly sure what that statement is about, but I did notice that it looks like he's got slicks or drag radials on the back and pulled what looks like a 1.8 60'???
Maybe he's just crazy and decided to put slicks on a "mostly stock" car?
Does this mean that if I put slicks on mine I'll drop into the 12's?
