Good pass but I'm with the others, the only thing I can think of is how close to failure those spares might have been.

They are supporting a Maxima, and generating twice the centrifugal force they were designed to sustain.

The sidewalls will come apart under tension and your maxima will be in pieces.

Worlds fastest Maxima? lol
I'm going wayyyyy faster than all of the guys with headers. All about how you drive the car. I don't have enough money to get headers. They are really expensive. There are ebay headers, but I don't really trust them.

Ive had a spare to 120mph a few times, but I wouldn't do it now that Im older and wiser
Definitely made a difference!

Fits perfect, doesn't rub anywhere. It is pretty close to the strut though.

If all you guys would think about it, the ET streets I have on the front aren't rated for consistent high speeds either. They are just rated for short bursts. I was only above the 50mph limit of the spares for about 8 seconds.

Thanks! Read above. The sidewalls did not come apart under tension, and my car is still in one piece. lol

yeah, I know they didn't come apart..... But there will be no warning of failure.
The small diameter spare is rotating much faster than the large diameter full size tire.
The weight is being transferred to the rear under acceleration.
The compound is only rated for a certain stress and you are more than doubling that satefy rating.

But hey you're probably right. Keep on making passes and prove us all wrong.

it's an ET Street... they aren't really 11.5" tires. ET Street 26x11.5-15s are the same size as ET Drag 26x10.0-15s.

I have no idea why mickey thompson does that retarded measuring scheme for ET Streets, but they do.

Great driving!

As others have mentioned, I'd also be worried about using the spares. They have skinnies for that purpose.

The spare tire is 26" tall. The ET street is 26" tall.
I'll keep making passes. Thanks for your concern though.

Yeah, they measure ET streets weird.
The tread width for these tires is only 9.70 in.

Can't afford the skinnies. Going fast on a budget isn't necessarily the safest way. lol

I appreciate the people that are giving me props. Thanks guys!

I couldn't afford skinnies either, so I know how you feel. I've thought about running spares in the fronts too so many times, but figured my life was a tad bit more important than running a tenth quicker.

What was the DA? And you said lots of weight reduction, but what exactly did you do?

Good times, however I wouldn't get to big of a head there. Plus a 350z doesn't run 15's unless the driver is asleep at the wheel.

The DA according to drag times was 2497. My pass was at 6:56PM and they list a DA for 6:53PM so it should be pretty damn accurate.
Here is the link:
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...time=6:53%20PM

No interior other than the driver seat and dash.

I like how you think! I see the 12's next trip to the strip. Try pulling the front and rear sway bars, and anything except the d/seat back to the tailights.

When you launch car has alot of weight tranfer, put some air shocks in the back to keep the weight on front end better tracksion. opposite of the 50/60's style of putting the front end up high to put weight on the rear wheels.

run a 12 sec. pass they''ll tell you to get a helmet.

Other than that rock and roll!!!!!

Thanks man! The problem with the cvt is that it can't get out of the hole.

I'm gonna take out the rear sway bar next time. I definitely need to figure out something to keep the rear stiff as well. Thinking of trying some rubber spring boosters. The front also raises too much on the launch.

Your girls car would put down some nice numbers with a 1.8 60ft. Thanks man!

He could also just try preloading the fron springs with some zip ties :grinno: they dont last that long but could last a couple passes haha
