Hey, i found a decent looking wheel that only weighs 15.21 lbs that I'm going to use for my track setup. They are mb motoring competitions and came in 16x8 +25 offset. There are decent options in 16" radials and slicks. These wheels only cost me $246 for both using the "cwheelsebay" coupon this week. That was shipped to my door.
They are sold by Discount Tire Direct but combined with the recent ebay coupon I just bought them from the eBay store for Discount Tire Direct. I will check fitment tonight but based on my calculations they will be fine.
just tested the wheel on the car and it fits great. Score! Now for tires. Thinking of MT ET Street radials or Toyo Proxes TQ. What do you guys think? Going to stick close to stock height.
Another note, the gunmetal is a pretty close match to the darker silver these cars come in.
RX7 FD wheels clear the rears, but not the fronts. Not sure about the wheels in this thread.
Thanks for the info. I have a friend that ran the RX7 wheels in the rear and didn't realize he had the Brembo's also at the time. I'm buying the set off of him and now I just need to figure out what to do with the 2 front RX7 wheels...
I'm not entirely sure but i'll measure them, take some pictures, and PM you when I pick them up. Not entirely sure when i'll head down there and pick them up though because they're like 1hr south of Indy, so hopefully soon.
FYI, the clearance is so close on the FD wheels that the top edge of the brembo scrapes the dirt off the inside barrel -- with heat expansion of the caliper after a burnout, it could seize or scrape badly A 5mm spacer (minimum) will prevent scrapage. ideally a 15 or 20mm hub centric with studs is best since the rim/tire really sits pretty far in the wheel well. There's easily an inch and a half of room til the tire hits the fender without spacers. The rim barrel is tapered towards the inside, so the more spacing you have the more clearance for the brembos. I'm going to run 5mm spacers at the track tomorrow just to get by, but will use 20mm with studs next time.
I just ran mine for the first time at the drag strip last night, and you're right. The wheel barely scrapes the brembo caliper and took a little bit of paint off. I'll have find some spacers as well.

I went to O'Reilly Raceway Park here in Indianapolis and the best I was ever able to do at that track on my Potenza RE-11's was a 12.4et. I forget mph and 60' but when I was there Wednesday night right off the bat I ran 12.213 @ 119.22mph with a 60' of 2.000 sec. I was there for about 4 hours and was only able to run 4 times because it was a test and tune night so these full blown drag cars kept breaking and leaking crap all over the track. I definitely need a lot of practice on doing burnouts and launching with the ET Streets. With the 12.2 run I launched at about 3k rpm. I'm still on stock axles so I wasn't trying to get too crazy with it either haha, but i'll be going back every wednesday night as long as its not raining to try and get back on that Top 25 list
