Smile Response to Jay's posts

What's up with all of this trash talk cuz . I had to log in and see if I needed to defend myself but I see the fellas at Z1 already did that for me. The game changer comes in February and you'll find that out on March 24th in Carrabelle FLA!! We'll get a chance to see what our cars will do in the 1/2 mile. It should be real close to flying without wings !

Very nice! Shepp, Rob has a Gopro for sale for a great price. Rob and I just may have to join you two in Carrabelle FLA if work doesn't hinder us.

You guys should join us man! This event is stacking up to be loaded with some very nice cars!

Shepp, GoPro is the competing action camera to what I was using the other day. Good, solid cameras!

Lol well if Shepp is interested in my brand new built low compression motor and Haltech I might just sell it to him extra cheap to make sure that Nismo stays ahead

That is a VERY respectable time for street tires. It gets to a point with power and street tires that more isnt better, you are about there.

Thats easily low 11's with driver mod on a tire. Congrats.

Ive always wanted to go run on street tires to see what time I could spin to, but just havent cuz Im too prideful.

Dont want fools seeing my $hit running high 11's or 12's at the track lol.

Yeah I was only pushing 8psi on my Greddy 20G kit and put some old ET Streets on, launched at 4,500rpm and pulled a high 1.6sec 60'. It scared the crap out of me because I've only launched at like 3,000rpm on street tires and was lucky to pull a 2.0sec 60' haha. I got back up to the line to try again and did 1.7sec 60' and 11.58sec @ 119mph. You're pushing that stock block more than I was so you could beat my time easy with some bias plies on that thing

I hear you. I did it just for fun. I have been drag racing for a long time but just got the impression from all the posts that this chassis was super difficult. I raced the S13 (240sx) chassis for 6 years but i dont think this chassis is any different. Just takes traction and some seat time like any other car.

Thanks! first time down the track with the Z33 chassis but not first time down the track

I have the Akebono brakes in the rear so I think I'm screwed since I can't run a 17" wheel in the back with ET Streets. I don't want to but I may have to switch back to stock rear brakes. I'm looking at MT ET Street Radials II in a 265-40-18. Any other suggestions?

This is quite the dilemma actually!

Yep big brakes are a no-no at the 1/4 track LOL. If you are serious about drag racing then swap out for stock brakes and run 15 or 16" rims with proper tire (bias ply). With >18"+ rims you're probably stuck with stiff sidewalled radials and your axles are going to hate you :P.
