Default Questions about rim fittment

Hey guys, Im sorry if I was unable to find this when I searched, but honestly I did try.

So I'm about to purchase a set of rear rims for my drag setup. I was wondering what type of backspacing is possible to use. I've seen that 5.5" is pretty much ideal, but I was wondering if a 4" could be run or if that wouldn't fit over the calipers. Thanks for your help guys.

Btw, I've got an 06 w/o brembos

A bit unusual that you are referring to backspacing and not offset. No matter. You can convert the numbers here: http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/t...p?bulletin=s10

I used backspacing because the rims I was looking at didn't have offset numbers, they had backspacing numbers. I appreciate the link though, thanks a lot davidv

Well the questions from a noob continue I suppose. Over the weekend I was able to come across slicks and wheels for the z. Was able to find a deal on some rims but I have one concern with them. They were used for drag racing previously and the owner drilled the lips to make a sort of cheap beadlock. My question is whether I will have to drill holes in my tires to mount them or if those holes can be left alone.

Anyways if you guys can help that would be awesome, I'm trying to figure out how to post images in the forum. Not exactly tech savvy here haha. Thanks for any help.

For huge power sometimes people screw the tire lip onto the rim which requires running tubes. You can get by without the screws most liekly but a tube is gonna be required on those wheels now that they are drilled out.
