I'm happy to be back in the 350z drag scene
I'd like to thank Vic (a new friend) & a Moderator here for giving me that chance.
I'll try to be more careful & thoughtful with my posting.
I've got my car back together & started drag racing it at the Nissan/Infinity Shootout at Atco.
I won the Infinity35&37, 350z, & 370z none turbo class. My time in the final race was
r/t .092
1.735 60'
12.777@108.38 mph.
Very happy with this start. Hope to get back to 12.5's before end of season & hoping to try going under 12.5 next spring.
It's nice to be back.
Andre

THANKS....
Sorry about some bad luck you've been having. If I'm mistaken then fill me in. If you need some help/ideas or my experience, I'd be more than happy to share & help out. It's nice to win, but not that much fun if no one is close to your or in this case my times. I want to stay #1, but it would be more fun to have some competition.... really, no joke. I was eating french fries, changing radio station & checking my msgs in the middle of the races. OK, that's a joke, a poor one I guess.

Welcome back! You may not know it but you're my motivation to run my Z as best as I can. Going back out once it cools down a bit to shave a tenth or two off my time . Maybe I'll be competition soon with a tune and more seat time . Happy motoring

Welcome back Andre! I hope you will be an inspiration to other drag racing enthusiast on my350 forum. Even though you are old, you still have crazy fast reflexes for drag racing. Hope to run into you again at the drag strip. Just remember though, my car will be different by next year. I am hoping to get my times down enough to so I can be your competition on the track. Once again, welcome back to the my350.com family!

With your drag experience, I'm certain next time we meet you'll be in the other lane in the final run.
"you are old" come on now, I don't look my age
all the best,
Andre

Thank you
It was the class for the fastest none tubo/nitro/superchared Infinity35/37, 350z's, & 370 z's (that showed up from the North East. I would think it had the most cars.
They made a nice rule that allowed losers of the first set of runs enter the bracket class.

Youre very welcome, haha I desperately need a tune to compete with your time, I may be able to run 12.7 hopefully next time out with better weather and a better 60' without my stupid 2nd gear lock out. who tuned yours if you dont mind me asking?

Florida has a ton of tuners. A good one that I know is Logic, but might be too far away.
For a long time I had a problem power shifting into second. People thought I was missing that gear. Since I never miss gears I had it checked at a friendly dealer who got me a new trans. under the 5yr. 60k warranty. All paid by Nissan. No more problems

So, this was a straight heads up between Nissans? Doesn't seem fair for the non-VQ35/37s. Cool how they put the first round losers in the bracket, though.
I guess I could look this up, but what was the DA?

The G35 & G37 had the extra weight disadvantage, but they drove well & tried hard. I must say I was dissapointed with the 370's. They (370's)had by far the largest numbers at the event. For some reason, I don't know why but it looked to me like very few raced.
I think the 350z's dominated, but will check out the result lists that should be posted soon.
Sponsor shops were closed Monday, so maybe tomorrow we'll hear from them.

Lol, you have to calculate the DA yourself. Here's a calculator that I just found:

I'd be interested to see what all the Nissans were running, but congrats nonetheless on your class win!

I competed in your class Andre but this motor is not as strong as my last one so I didn't do as good as I usually do. My fastest run of the day was 13.8 and my trap was dropping as the day went on. I did find out that I have a slight misfire on cylinder 2 so wont be racing it anymore until I get a new non OC motor. When I heard there was an HR Z running 12's I had a feeling it was you. Congrats on the win.

For some reason at the track people from different backgrounds all are friendly & get along.
Maybe next time

DA started around 230 and ended up around 500. Not too bad.
BTW, this is the go-to calculator for drag racers:

Unfortunately both car and driver wasn't running right on Sunday for me... so I don't even want to advertise my pitiful times LOL.
Congrats to you Andre.

Everybody has a bad day at the strip every once in a while. Ha, I can't even count how many of those I had.
Andre seems to pump out some very good times, though, and pretty consistently, too.
Andre - would you mind posting up your timeslip and also a little bit about your current set up?

It's a b*tch when a car doesn't run right on a day that you may need it the most.
I've been very consistant because of luck but mostly because I just leave it alone. As far as reaction times, I had to learn it in order to compete in bracket racing. Racing against others brings a much bigger rush than test & tune. I try to do that mostly in import & big events. P.R vs USA can bring 70-90 cars to just one bracket class.
As far as time slips, I no longer keep them if they don't have some importance. That day I started with 12.8's because of high wind gusts. A video showed me running all over the track. Later I was doing mostly low to high 12.7's. In the actual race, I ran as quick as was necessary. One competitor(my slowest) I beat with a 14.09@89mph to his 14.07@93 or 98?mph. something like that. Faster reaction time for those that
Everything is the same, even the tune that I got years ago also survived ten feet of flood/water Test pipes, alum. flywheel, ACT street clutch, 3:90 gears, added alum. crank pulley, & tune. Sunday I ran first time without a muffler. There was no performance change but it sure was loud
Oh yes, slicks with skinnies in the front.
