Stock wheels and tires- PSI set to 25
Took the Z to SGMP (South Georgia Motorsports) today for the first time and tried my luck at the track.. First run I was nervous as hell ran a 13.5 @ 106. From there I toyed with my burn outs, launches, shifting, PSI in the tires etc. It was all a learning experience for me. I consistently would do better... low 13.5, 13.4, 13.3, but couldn't break 13.2. Finally I took it to the burnout pit, did what I could, lined it up, loaded it to 2k, dumped and spun like crazy and came out with a 13.28 after spinning my *** off.
All my runs had a 60ft of 2.00-2.10 I could NOT get the 60ft down....
So final best time was 13.28 @ 108 with a 2.09 60ft
Hey quick question - can anyone explain to me (i read this, but not the reason why or how to get around it), why the auto Z's do not allow you to spin the tires while you're holding the brake? I have some ridiculously stiff tires from whoever previously owned it and could not heat them up for the life of me...

Thanks man, I tried a bunch of different things to find the best launch but really the street tires just hindered me from getting a better 60ft

Get a set of M/T street radials 275/40/17's on 9"-10" wide wheels, # 672-3743R from Jegs. Also a set of 17" wheels. They drive well on the street & will give you 1.8-1.9 60' with proper heat up. Also work fine with stock front tires.
You can just make one long spin, then just pull up to the line or do as the mod suggested with the brake fuse & take the car into the water. With traction off of course, spin them till water avaporates & white smoke comes out both tires. This should give you a 1.7 60' and a 12.9 time for sure.
Water helps get both tires spinning.
My first 12 second run ever had those tires. I had stock wheels/tires in the front & drag radials in the rear.
Video is on "drag times.com" first page. Look for Andre
Best of luck/nice to see a drag racer....

Nice time!! Another fast auto.
Pull the fuse 03threefifty said to do burnouts just not long on street tires. 2.0 60ft are good for street tires.
I consistently pull 1.9-2.0 on street tires.
Did you shift into 4th or hold 3rd through the traps?

Congratulation, great e/t & mph. If it's ok to suggest something, I think you'll have no problem doing twelves.

Best of luck/nice to see a drag racer....my 3rd when shifting with the triptonic goes to about 118 so I went through in 3rd. I would really like to get gears down the road too, help wake it up a bit.
Gears would help alot since you are 3.3. I had 3.5 gears when I ran 13.147 with 256hp in my G35.
The best gears to get for a AT is 3.7. 4.08 may be too short since we are 5 speed.

You started with a good time slip & high mph. That was with what looked like very poor traction. So instead of improving your traction & seeing where you stand, your are now looking at gears. I won't waist my time telling you that you're taking the get nowhere route, that is so very common with the members of this forum.
Go with the 3.5 for your AT so you dont have to shift into 4th @ the end of your run. You should be able to run 12's easily
. The shift into the 1:1 really kills the 1/4 when you go with a shorter FD.Nice runs BTW
