Default Wheel/Tire Set Up Suggestion

Well I posted this in the wheel section originally, but it seems like over there its much more popular to have stretched wheels than it is to have functional wheels... So I figured people who venture over to this section must also like going to the track and might be able to help me out!

Looking for a set of wheels for my Z for days that I go to the track. Took my car to SGMP and ran a 13.2 @ 108 mph, but had a 2.01 60ft. Need to get that thing down!

Majority of my friends around here drive mustangs and they swear by it, I know the Z and stang share a bolt pattern but does anyone have any expierence with these on their Z? If so, what size did you get, and any issues clearing calipers?

So true about the wheel and tire section on here lol. Very sad what the Z33 has come to

As for the wheels you posted I have no experience running them but if the lug pattern, and offset checks out fine they should work.
I personally run Rear 300ZX TT wheels with Mickey Thompson 26x11.50-16 E.T Streets, Im sure you can find some on Craigslist for fairly cheap.
I see you're in FL , if you're near tampa I still have the front 300ZXTT wheels if you're interested.

Also since youre Auto you can just get Drag Radials instead of Slicks, From what Ive learned Slicks are recommended for Manual cars to not be so hard on the drivetrain during launch, plus Drag Radials are not as scary on the road lol

Yeah I'm up in Jax actually. I love Tampa hah, I don't think I could live there as its like my own personal sin city lol.

Might be a goofy question but are the fronts the same as the rears for the 300? I've been told something similar, just buy something cheaper and small since I'm not making any type of crazy power that would constitute a expensive set up.

Ill definitely keep that in mind about the radials for auto vs slicks. Now when I run at the track I put the car to triptonic and run that way, I actually ran my slowest time full auto on my car and crossed the line going into 4th! I normally take my 3rd to right about 120, so that was a huge difference. My rev limiter was raised to 7900 so I used the triptonic to utilize that

Lol funny you say that, Jacksonville is like my sin city!

The fronts are a little narrower but you should still be fine with whatever tire you put on them.

Oh damn , that extra 400 rpm definitely helps your running good times esp being auto, trap speed is real healthy

Hey redline my buddy has a pair of et street bias ply, he said the tire is 26x11.5x15, and a 15x10 race star, he is unsure of the offset.

Do you think that would fit under the Z comfortably??

On the note of the 300 tt wheels, how wide are they? I noticed a set of used one on craigslist and wanted to get slicks for them. I'm still learning hear about sizing slicks to gear ratio. I'm trying to see what my options are.

First pic is from the other day, set up is coilovers up front and stock rear suspension with rear 300ZX TT wheels 8.5 wide with a 35 offset , Tire is a Mickey Thompson 26x11.50-16 .
The other two pictures are from a few months ago with a 20mm spacer in the back and on coilovers

Me Gusta. What kinda pressure are you running with the slicks? Are you running a stock FD?

The race stars Im hoping to pick up are 15x10's. I believe my friend is having them mounted soon to test fit. glad to see the tire fits under the car. If they fit Im picking them up and cannot wait!
