Default 2013 Drag Racing Thread

This part of the forum seems dead so thought I would make a thread for everyone to post time slips and videos of your runs this year.

I'll start, this was one of my last runs and my current best time I'm going for the 25th spot on the forum I'm almost there.

There was a bike going up pit so you can't hear my car until the end but this was from our local Sport Compact weekend

You have been practicing, and have made considerable improvement since your first run. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, went back to the track on TnT tuesday best I could run was a 13.7 the car was just not hooking up at all my 60fts were trash.

I'm on all seasons right now though, in the next few weeks picking up a set of MT slicks 26x8.5x15

My new 75mm throttlebody should be here in a few days hopefully it works as good as advertised

Does no one race 1/4 mile on our platform anymore or what? Feel free to discuss setups, tracks, whatever drag related guys.

I would like to see this section more lively!

I'm going Friday for the first time. My car with a good driver should be able to do 13.5 so my goal is under 14. Is that too unrealistic for my first time? Any tips? Advice?

Too hot outside for good respectable times. What is the temp where you are located?

14 should be no problem even for a stock 350z.

When you go to stage go around the waterbox and don't do a burn out just spin your tires over to get rid of the debris on them. Drop you tire pressure few psi at a time until you find the sweet spot. I currently run mine at 22psi.

When you launch don't dump the clutch, preload and slip the clutch a little but don't ride it.

Good luck and have fun post back your results

Nice is your 1.8 60ft on street tires? I just looked at my rear tires to find that my driver side inside is almost bald and the passenger side has lots of life left but both outter tread is almost new.

VLSD is gone and camber out of spec

Nah its on e.t streets , without a burnout. my 1.8 was decent but it would fall on its face after because i couldn't do a quick 1-2 and 2-3 shift clutch was going out at the time and i experienced bad gear lock out so since then I installed a new clutch and shifting is better but the damage to the trans has already been done, 2-3 grinds and so does 4-5. I have another run where i cut a worse 60' 1.9 but still ran 12.83 because a did slightly better on my 1-2 that run.

As for your tire wear get an alignment and see what was out of spec, you may have a bent toe arm or camber arm, prob not your diff

Had the car up on a hoist today camber arms aren't bent I put SPC arms on not long ago.

Our cars don't have toe arms from the factory we use toe bolts.

lol the adjustment is using the toe bolt but i was talking about the actual arm, aka spring bucket. but if it looks okay then just get an alignment

In talking to some guys I know that go to the track I'm going to Friday (Heartland Park Topeka) they say it's a slow track. They think my best time will be 14.5...We'll see about that.

I plan on going at least two more times this year after Friday (three if Friday is rained out). Hopefully once it starts cooling down and I get better at dragging I can run 13.5. We'll see though. It kind of made me mad when my buddy told me he thinks I'll only run 14.5 Friday.
