So I went to the local track this weekend and lost to an older Mercedes c300. Not sure what year really as I don't know much about this brand.

The track sucks its 1/8th mile and they don't print out your slips. I really don't know how fast or what my time was. It was a close race at first but then at about 40 mph he took me by about 1-2 car lengths and it stayed there until the end of the track.

I assume he was automatic because he had me from the start. It was fun and I've only raced a handful of times at the track. First time was against a wrx and I won woot woot. It's fun and I would urge people on here to only do it on the track.

 

Could it have been a C32 AMG? The AMG models pack some power. The older C32 had about 350hp.

 

Had to be an AMG. No way a C300 can beat a Z unless you messed up bad on the run.

All I know is, I lost. I remember the embelm on the right side saying "4matic".

From my research it only has 227 hp. WTF. I know our cars dyno at about 230 or so (287 hp is not to the wheels).

 

My fiance's best friend has a 13' C300 4Matic and I have driven it with my foot all the way down. It's a peppy car, but nowhere near my Z. I would actually say the power is more comparable to the fiance's Camry than my Z. I understand I have an HR which has more power than the DE but I didn't think THAT much of a difference.

Maybe it was a C350 4Matic, although that only has 268hp but it is closer to the Z. I don't think the C class AMG models ever came out in 4Matic

A buddy of mine had a 800whp E55 AMG so I learned alot about the AMG models when talking to him. What was crazy was that it was his daily driver. His weekend warrior was a 700whp Porsche 993 turbo. Boy did that car put me back into the seat. Felt like the front of the car was going to lift in the air!

 

I put as general knowledge not necessarily at your post. Yeah those AMG are serious. He may got beaten by a C300, AWD and who know if stock.

 

Gotcha since you quoted me I thought it was regarding my information being incorrect or something. Yea the AMG are serious, even though I would never get one. Not really a fan of any of the German cars right now. I do respect them though, the AMG, M series, RS line, etc are all outrageous cars.

I would like to hope that it wasn't a C300. At least a stock one

 

I've always wanted an amg Mercedes but then I look at how much repairs are and look the other way. I've seen some really fast ones at cars shows they sound mean and are really fast.

I test drove the cla 250 or whatever the $30,000 one is. It felt as slow as my civic si. It did look nice but that's about it. I expected a car with turbo to put you in your seat.

 

Went the other night and raced a golf or rabbit r32 and won.

He had me from the go because I suck at reaction time... But caught up quick and had him by a good 4 cars or so by 60 mph

 

Raced a Jeep SRT8 and lost. I had him from the launch but that was it. That thing was fast. He had me by a good 5 cars hahah
