Default Procharged 1/4 mile time - 12.74

Went down to the track today with a bunch of friends to finally get a chance to run the 1/4 mile with my Z and an ATI Procharger on it, the weather has been very crappy every Sunday. Temp was in the low 50's today, low humidity, a really nice day today. Anyway, my car is running 7psi, with a stock clutch, exhaust stuff and also riding on 19's. Here is the slip: I'm the one on the left btw

I'm pretty pleased with the times I ran, being the first time ever taking the 350Z to the track, and the obvious traction issues with 19" wheels, if my 60' came down to a 1.7 or so, my times would be much much better. My times through out the day were all in the high 12's, at 109mph or better. All in all, had alot of fun and am pleased with the times. Next time I go out there, I'll bring some Drag Radials, more boost and get a better time I'll post a video of a run previous to this time, and some pictures later on. Enjoy!

Very impressive... a new clutch setup with some drag radials would give you a much quicker time.

Bill, did you ever get the beefed up internals and the bigger injectors and the ECU reflash?

No. I'm running this on a stock motor, stock injectors, no ECU flash, it's the ATI kit out of the box, with a J&S Safeguard. My other motor is waiting on some parts, probably won't run that till about April.

Did you ever dyno it as is? If so, what kind of numbers did you get. I'm interested in ATI numbers with the J&S. Better or worse than no J&S.

Well right now I'm right under 380hp/330tq at the wheels, too rich, 10.0-11.0. I got to retune this week and make a map for 7psi, and I'm going to make one for 9psi. The J&S didn't hurt me too much, a few hp and a few tq, nothing too crazy but that's because I'm taking out more then I need to right now, but she is running good right now.

Sure no problem, I'll post all my runs.

My first run was a practice run, just really to see how traction is and see how I should handle the launch, I ran a 14 @ 104 w/ 2.66 60', only shifted to 5500 on that run.

The others were:

12.81 @ 111.96 2.19 60'
12.96 @ 111.99 2.20 60'
12.83 @ 110.24 2.17 60'
13.17 @ 109.70 2.26 60'

I tell you, 3 of those runs I shifted early, and I missed my shifts, but I recovered pretty quick from those screw ups and did alright considering. I tell you, I sleep at the line, I got to wake up and get my reaction times down a little also. People were pretty shocked at the track today, they didn't know WTF was going on with me running those traps. I think I could have trapped a little bit higher if I power shifted.

Your 100% right. My friends in their TA's and Camaros were running 12.1's and a little bit under with 108-110 traps, but their 60' were like 1.6-1.7. Ah next time I'll bring the DR's or maybe I'll get my slicks mounted

That guy in the Mach 1 is someone I know, he knows what's up with my car He ran a pretty damn good for a bone STOCK Mach 1. I think it was like 13.2 @ 105, 415 miles on her, he's a good driver

with slicks you would hit 11's if you are brave enough to launch the beast. A 1.7 60' should yeild a high 11 considering the theory of every tenth off the 60' = 2 tenths in the E.T. Good luck next time out. I'd like to come watch and maybe run although I'm back to the all motor game. My new goal is 13.0-13.2 all motor in the Auto Maxima. Hopefully have the headers installed soon and dynoed and the send off the ECU to TS for tuning from my a/f curves. VERY IMPRESSIVE TIMES for street tire runs.

Thanks Matt. I have to get the video of me launching, it's pretty funny, I just roll out of there lol, I couldn't do sh*t. I do need run w/ some slicks, hell I'll take some DR's too, I'll drop her at 5k, I don't care, I just need a new clutch first . Are you not going to run on juice anymore? Low 13's would be sweet, good luck. Let me know when you want to come out here and I'll head out with you, maybe get more of the Maxima guys to show too.

How early did you shift? What where your shifts points on your 12.74 run? Thanks...

On the runs I ran that were slower, I'd shift at like 6300 or so, once at 6000 by mistake, wasn't anything crazy early but it wasn't redline. On the 12.74 run, I shifted right before 6600, like 6500. I'd wait for the shift light to come but I can hardly see the thing.

Yea no more juice I plan to run motor for a while until some sort of FI comes around that has proven grounds. Nitrous is fun but I'd rather have boost at every touch of the throttle rather than having to fill a bottle. If I can get everything together I'd like to hit up the track the last sunday in Feb. I'll let you know

Thats exactly how I shif mine..It seems to keep the car in the powerband and get the best times for some reason..even on DR's before I tuned my sc I ran a 13.1@109..Since then I have picked up 42 hp @ 5200rpms from tuning....But even on dr's I spun the tires but I wouls run 13.3 everytime right from Idle rolling out of the box....Weird..

nice times, skip the drs and get some slicks mounted on 16's. you will probably pick up some mph launching hard on slicks.
