1st time at the drag strip. 1/8 mile results.
I went to the 1/8 mile track in Immokalee, FL for the first time. The temperature was around 73 degrees last night. The altitude there is around 35ft. I just bought the car about a month and a half ago. Keep in mind my times were fully loaded with spare and a child's booster seat since my wife and daughter went with me.
Info
2003 G35 6mt
Non-rev up
101k miles
Mods:
18" 350z Anniversary rims and 245/40/18 tires. Tire psi was lowered to 25 psi at the track.
2.25" DNA motoring HKS replica exhaust with a Magnaflow 2.25" perforated x pipe welded in.
Stillen Intake
350z z tube
Timeslip:
I am on the right. (32)
I launched around 2500-2700 rpm's which netted me around 2.1-2.2 60 ft with some practice
The time on the left is of a 2008 Bullitt Mustang. Unknown mods.
Also, there was a Silver 2008 Infiniti G37 coupe. I am not sure if it was automatic or stick shift. I forgot to ask. Potenza tires but looked a little wider than stock width. He said he had full exhaust, intake, and a uprev tune. I think he said that he dynoed around "305 rwhp." I did not think his time slips matched his power as stated, but who am I to say anything to anyone.
The G37 coupe's time on one particular run was
.1204 Reaction
2.2941 60 ft
6.1590 330 ft
9.2749 1/8 mile
79.16 1/8 mph
I did see the g37 run 9.1 something once or twice.
Overall, I had a good time. I know I need to practice, but that will come with time.
I just bought a NX wet shot kit from Dass-Mayweather. I plan to install that next Saturday. I would like to run a 75 shot. I will install a RPM window switch (3k-6k RPM's), bottle heater, purge kit, and LFR6A-11 plugs (one step colder-copper). I would like to get on a dyno to check where I am at NA and to check AFR's with the Nitrous to make sure everything is ok. I do not plan on getting a tune just yet. I know that some people might be against me running Nitrous and no tune.
