Cool Procharger 1/4 mile time 12.44@110.95

Just ran the following times today on slicks..Could have launched a little harder if I got one more run but I chewed up my SC belt...Again...
I was experimenting with tire pressure and launch points on my slicks, but let me tell you..When you find the right combo, you just KNOW it...The last run it took off like a bat out of hell!!!

runs

run1- 12.66@110 2.02 60ft
run2- 12.88@110 2.11 60ft
run3- 13.00@110 2.23 60ft
run4- 12.48@110 1.79 60ft

good runs...

you are running 8 lbs. and have that special piggy back, right?
what did you dyno again?

bill (ravas) is running 7 lbs, and had 19" street tires on.. he trapped 112MPH... this at 380hp/330tq...

i thought you would be getting 11's with those slicks for sure... i also thought you would trap higher than ravas...

us TT peeps need to get to the track!

Well I am running 1/2 of the 2 pulley combo which gave me less PEAK hp but a SHIZLOAD of more TQ..The blue line on my Dyno was stock pulley TQ and the red represents the ONE pulley upgraded and tuning..The Hp was I think 366 peak but I gained alot throughout the USABLE rpm range...I expect high 11's next time as I was just getting used to the slicks and only launched at 5000-5200 rpms..Next time I launch at redline..The reason RAVAZ probably trapped at 112 was due to the fact that he had alot of tire spin which at the top of the track tends to bump your trap up a bit..Plust the fact that my big aZZ is 250lbs and I wasnt really power shifting and was only pulling it to 6500 rpms to be safe..The piggy back I have runs a MAP sensor That makes the timing adjustments based on absolute manifold pressure..So theres no guess work in pulling the timing, but I did notice I was able to run FULL timing on this pulley combo on the DYNO and did pull 425 non corrected HP but I decided to street it with the more TQ and less peak with the timing pulled...

looks good. i went back and saw the dyno sheet on the 386HP run... noticed the a/f was 12.2 up top.. i think that's just a little lean for our cars.. i tuned my car to never hit 12.0. this gave me 426hp/378tq @ 8.5psi.

my tq curve looks like this:
starts at 300 @ 3200rpm (already at full boost)
climbs smooth to 375 @ 4600rpm
stays at 375 until about 5800rpm
then smoothly falls back to 350 at 6300rpm.

your track numbers are inspiring, though... keep on pushing the envelope!!

From A LOT of track experience...I think that the wheelspinning to higher trap speeds is a myth. I trapped higher with slicks on my car than I did with street tires...and with a much better 60' time. My old car was a stick maxima with nitrous and my 60' times varied between 2.0 and 2.4...and I never saw any higher traps with the 2.4 60's than the 2.0s...in fact...in general..the better my launch, the higher my traps are.

See now from alot of my track experiences I have found the opposite to be true...Hmmm..Maybee it had something to do with the height of the wheels or different tuning..

Height of the wheel can change your gear ratio..and have a difference...different tuning can also do that.

Just look at the E.Ts and traps you posted up top...all of the traps are the same...yet the E.Ts vary A LOT...and so do the 60's....

i have heard that trap speed is way better than ET to get an estimation on WHP... it will not vary as much from spinning, or launching easy...

any thoughts on this?

I really didn't have that much spin, off the line I just had a little, but other then that I had nothing, but I wasn't launching off the line really at all. I didn't really even power shift, my boys were abusing me saying I shift like a grandma And I'm the fat azz, 265 pounds, 13% bf tho Could be the track, some are slow some are fast tracks.

You have good times there, it'll get better. You still using the stock clutch? How did it like with dropping the clutch that high? High 11's are yours man! Good luck.

Stock clutch seemed fine..Probably wont last the whole season but seems to hold good..Gonna drop it at 6500 next time.

It'll slip and you'll probably just burn the clutch. The highest I could launch on slicks BONE STOCK was 5500rpms without slippage of the stock clutch.

Try a really quick slip from around 5500 or so..that seemed to work really well for me.

How are you doing a burnout if I may ask....I found the best way is to put the car in SECOND gear...and dump the clutch at around 4 grand in the water box....actually gets the tires spinning quick enough to heat them up before the car gets sideways....

I pull my BRAKE LIGHT fuse which allows you to do a break stand..I drive through the box and do a little spin in the box to coat the slicks with water first..Then pull past the box and do a break stand burnout till I see nice white smoke... You have to pull the brake light fuse which allows you to hit the brakes as you press the accelerator..I seen Smithstown launching off the revlimiter on the stock clutch with no problem..we will see..
