Default results from day one at nopi nationals

well i get to race again tomorrow!
made it through round one!

stayed in the 13.8's all day i was thrilled
i dialed in at a time i knew i could do repetitively....
first run was
.111 r/t
2.03 60'
13.801 at 100.28mph

run 2 was
.012 r/t
1.92 60'
13.87 at 99.24

run 3 was
.033 r/t
1.96 60'
13.82 at 100.18

i ran another run later in the day after qualifying was over in the open session to see what i could really do.....
pretty happy

.036 r/t
1.910 60'
13.67 at 100.31 mph

i had xerd race pipes
nismo cold air intake set up like a pop charger
and mickey thompson race slicks

it was almost 90 degrees today so im really really happy with the times.....i used 13.81 as my dial in time

hopefully i can be this consistant tommorow...if so i have a real good shot at winning i think.....

Nice job sounds like you had some fun. I want to enter events like that, how do you go about it? What do you get if you win the event? I need $$$, the teaching salary just ain't cuttin it.

well with the drag slicks it was pretty easy...the slips give you a lower trap speed but man they are awsome....

technique for the my reaction time is to launch as soon as the last yellow lights up....dont wait for the green ...you will never get past a .500 light....

as for launching?well with the slicks its easy....dump it at 5000 rpm....anything else ant the car bogs down when the slicks bite....

and then its just fast shifting with the pedal to the floor.....

hope this helps

Did you run on street tires that day to confirm this???

I ran on streets and slicks the same day last summer and I picked up 1mph with the slicks.

my best on street tires was 13.93 @ 101.3

my best on slicks is 13.52 @ 100.99

slicks don't hurt that bad.

It probably had more to do with the SIZE of slick..not the air pressure. I was also running 14psi and I trapped 1mph HIGHER due to the slicks being a little smaller diameter that my street tires.

no itwasnt the tire size...the wheels are actually the same size possibly even a 1/4 inch smaller....

i know it was the as when i had 20lbs of air i was 2mph faster than with the 14lbs....but slower times

i was trapping at 101-102 with the potenzas
the best i could ever manage with the slicks was 99.98
that was with 20psi....best trap with 14 was 98.21 mph

now i know it was close to 100 degrees at the track and that may have had something to do with it but i doubt it as far as trap speed goes....i trapped at 98.96 at about 7:30 that night with a et of 13.64....and that was my fastest time of the day ..(it was about 68 degrees then....so i really dont think it was the heat either.....which only leaves the slicks

slick size was 26x10x15 and when i say slicks i mean actual wrinckle wall drag slicks

That's kinda wierd....you did run a VERY wide slick though....that probably had something to do with it. The slicks that I ran were 6inch M&H's....and I trapped 101.5mph in 90 degree heat with 14 psi in them. 10 inch is probably a little overkill for our car. in stock or near stock form.

Sounds pretty awesome. I didn't even know Stillen had a "stage 4" for their S/C kit yet. What does it include over the stage 2 intercooler???

Are you going to run the juice on top of the boost?
