drag racing
hey,
new to this site.
i would like some feedback on my recent trip to the track.
my friend at work wanted to race me with his 03 mustang gt convert, mods are 4.10 rear and catback perf exhaust.
i have a stock 03 tour 6 speed.
350z / mustang gt
r/t .545 / .252
60' 2.322 / 2.143
330 6.248 / 6.076
1/8 9.490 / 9.312
mph 76.61 / 75.73
1000 12.243 / 12.117
1/4 14.557 / 14.492
mph 97.98 / 94.80
lbs. 3420 / 3704
this was best run as on #1 i blew the light and #2 on spun and went sideways.
i am terrible out of the hole, so i walked it out as the gt had a nice jump on me. i still believe the 350z is quicker and as you can see i was gaining on him and there is no way he would be able to keep up with me if i had more track. but bottom line i lost in the 1/4. help me as i dont like mustangs !!!

Your 60ft's are way high, try getting in the 2.0 range. Slip the clutch around 2500-3500 whatever feels good for you and lower the tire pressure to around 27psi - works good for me. Your trap seems kinda low, try shifting at redline if your not doing that already. And try to shift a little faster, I ran 13.80 stock with a 2.1 60ft if you drop .2 off your 60ft you should be around a 14.1-14.2 so practice shifting some...good luck
thanks alberto, will do this as i know my r/t was terrible. i was never at this track before (englishtown, nj ) and had trouble adjusting. also had the pressure of beating my friend.
no excuses, i should have done better!!
