Go And Work For D1gp!!
To all you D1GP fans out there, if your interested about getting some behind the scenes work for D1 when they come to your area, they are always looking for volunteers.
Last year i worked at the D1GP championship in Englishtown New Jersey, it was awesome, dont get me wrong, you do work a 20 hour day, for 4-5 days straight, but its well worth it. We knew some people that work full time for D1 so we were able to get hotel rooms etc etc. But theres nothing better than waking up at 4 am to watch a fully built R34 get warmed up and start practicing. You get to work with all the drivers, we partied with them at night, etc. Awesome time!! Mainly it involves setting up the track, getting all the sponsor flags up, and being on call all day for whatever they need, cleaning up after an accident. But when you work the track you get so close to the competition its awesome. Theres no better feeling than when your at the first turn when team orange enters at 110mph sideways only 12 feet in front of you. We even locked Tanaka from team orange in a porta-potty. It was good times though.
When the event comes around just go up to the main tent (usually near the starting line) and ask if they need volunteers, they always are. Try it out you wont be dissapointed, just expect to work your @$$ off.
