6 runs over 6 hours because your ebrake was failing on you?
I've been searching around for hydro e-brake setup that let's you use ABS. (check Jason z ya's thread) Let's do it together

nah, it was just the first "open to the public" event they had at infineon raceway so it was super disorganized.

hydro e-brake will come as soon as i get a dd. i think i'll get an extended lever for more leverage in the meantime.

(going out on a limb hear) but have any of you ever thought about diffrent drum shoes out of another car drilled to fit the 350z? because i had an eclips and no mater how fast you were going you could initiate and 240sx's hand breaks are boss idk if its the material there made of or just the fact that the cars are so light that makes them work well but it would be awsome to be able to get cheap factory replacements rather than learning japanese to try to get a set of project mu drum shoes or having to rig up all kinda of crazy hydro setups just to get the 350 to lock the back tires.

as for the extended lever, i'm thinking a pipe that will tightly fit around the lever and then bolt through the existing lever at some point to hold it on. it would also have a stopper thing inside it that would hold down the button and the bolt hole would be slotted so you can loosen it and slide it forward if you want the brake to hold when you're parked. i'm going to try to figure it out next week.

It's probably less head hurting to just go hydro ebrake

I used to have a picture of the one I made like 2 years ago but I don't know what happened to it.

I took a 1' section of 1 3/4" I/D (if I remember right) pipe. Measured from a point on the factory handbrake handle to the point where the button was all the way in. Slipped it over then factory handbrake and forced it on as far as I could. Measured to the point the button was all the way in and made a mark on the pipe. Drilled a hole in it and welded a rod across the diameter of the pipe and gave it a coat of paint. Though if you don't have access to a welder you could just run a bolt through there. Its basically the same thing.

I was thinking I would have to drill a hole through both the pipe and the handbrake to keep it on, but I never had to. It was a tight fit and when I pulled the handbrake I pulled back and up so it couldn't slip forward. However for safety's sake I would suggest you do have some sort of way to keep it in place in case it slipped forward and the handbrake locked. You could crash or something...

The only thing I would do different is file down the inside of the pipe on the end so it didn't scuff up the leather. Mine did a little and I didn't care but whatever.

Oh and one other bit of advice. I found that with all this extra leverage and usage I stretched my cable a bit. Eventually after tightening the adjustment screw so much I pulled it and the cable snapped. Lucky for me it was the stud that snapped so I loosened it and welded it back together. Though, now it only works to park the car... barely. That did play a big role in my decision to try a hydraulic handbrake. For me, the hydraulic was way better and I would never go back... at least in a Z. I had a hydraulic in my s14 when I bought it, but found it to be quite useless since the factory setup works so well. I ended up giving it to my buddy for his SC300 since they have the same ******** drum setup. He's a happy camper now.

Sorry for the rambling.
