Official My350Z drift thread - Post pics of YOU drifting!
When you pull the fuse don't the brake lights stop working? Do you drive like that all the time..? I'd rather have the brake lights work because of stupid drivers around here. And to pull the fuse, you open the lid where the master brake cylinder is and just pull that fuse next to the abs pump? Sorry for all the questions!

Honestly I don't know haha. On my Z I just unplugged (actually cut it but whatever) one of the wires from the front wheel wells. Disables the entire system. I have friends who simply pulled their fuse, no issues from what I could tell. Tail lights still work.
Teaser?? meh.

i still dont get why you say you cant use the ebrake because you have abs..... but you do need to get rid of that abs fuse.
Open hood, find fuse panel, take cover off, find the one that says its for the abs on the inside of the cover, pull it.

You can use the e-brake? i just dont have a hydro brake and the factory is useless.
factory isnt useless. whens the last time you tried tightening it? Its no hydro for sure but it will still work. Its not going to work well at all for initiations but once youre sideways it will work for scrubbing speed and extending. Ive used the factory one all season. Worked alright for me.
The ebrake on my Z was terrible. Adjusted it in all possible places and swapped out shoes. Yeah I could scrub speed mid drift but once I started to move to more advanced braking techniques like 4 wheel brake locking it's usefulness was pretty depleted. I guess how useful the factory hand brake is is heavily dependent on driver style and course layout/speed.
i guess i got lucky and got a pretty good working ebrake. Theres no doubt a hydro is the way to go though. And your right about other braking techniques that you cant use with abs like 4 wheel locks and left foot braking. And once again your absolutely right about different driving styles and such. I feel like i have become a bit too dependent on my ebrake, pulling it sometimes when i dont need it at all or when i should maybe left foot brake or right foot brake.
Not that I dislike KA-t, but this isn't necessarily true. Bottom end on an SR can handle around 500whp (and whatever equivilant torque that it's coupled with), bottom end on a KA is only partially balanced and would need work before it could handle that much power. Also the ring lands on KA's are notoriously weak and the pistons would need to be replaced before they could handle the same amount of boost an SR could. I have friends that have been running 18lbs on their stock SR with T28 pushing around 300whp for 5 years with no issues. I also know people that pushed 10lbs on a T25 on a stock KA that have blew ring lands, threw rods, etc etc. Nothing wrong with Ka-t but it needs work to be as reliable as an SR.
IDK bros.... i never pulled the fuse myself. And yes you could drift with abs on and pull the ebrake and all that..now that being recommended not so much so ABS is a no go when drifting..so you shold have it OFF. Ktran and a bunch of other peeps including myself take the whole connector clip off right besides the abs system where the break fluid is and blah blah blah. Just push down on the top and outwards and it comes right off or you can just take the fuse, whatever you like.
When you are drifting with abs you can hit the ebrake but if you spin backwards and try to hit the brakes the pedal feel will not be so pleasant and the car will not stop right away, at least from my experience my z didn't like breaking with abs on in reverse and I'm sure mine wasn't the only one.

I used to pull the fuse by the driver foot kick panel it also turned off the tail lights so I would not recomend doing that at anything other then an event. I've almost bumped a couple curbs from that abs crap happaning lol. You sliding sooo slow hitting the brakes as hard as possible and the car won't even slow down at all haha
Hell yea, i sold my s13 track car 2 days ago

Finally get to start building up my z. Also getting cheap truck for towing purposes. pretty excited for 2012 season.
Just picked up:
-(4) 18x9.5 sbc rpf1's
-30mm spacers
-(2)F1 spec bucket seats
-(2)buddy club rails
Ordering parts this week:
-stance true type coilovers (upgrading from megan streets)
-toe arm/bucket delete
-PBM hydro
-PBM knuckles
-either shim VLSD or buy open diff/weld it.
-broke dick racing cage off ebay and weld it in
