Nice having a pro on here to answer some Q's specific to the 350z!

Are you using any aftermarket tie rods/ends or modified knuckles to get more steering angle?

What camber/toe (F&R) settings would you recommend for a smaller, parking lot sized drift event?

NOS energy drink - Is grape flavor any good?

Chris, have you noticed more women willing to drop the panties for you since drifting has become a popular motorsport?

We have done many different changes to the car including chassis prep, engine parts, suspension upgrades, and the exterior design as well. Check out my website www.chrisforsberg.com on the blog for all the updates we have done under "Off-Season Buildup". There are about 3-4 posts so far. With more to come!

Thanks
As ni$mo350 said, we change the final drive for each track. anywhere from 3.5 to 3.9. The changes are made according to what the engine rpm's are in the "main" corner.

The SR car however uses a 4.3 rear gear. I modified a Skyline differential to fit.

I ask this because I was at the Road Atlanta stop, a stop that you ended up winning, and before going into the finals everyone pitted one last time and I asked one of your crew members about the setup. He proceeded to tell me that it wasn't even tuned or anything yet and he couldn't wait to see what it could do when it was.. Can you elaborate on this?

Btw.. keep up the good work! You never seem to disappoint.
Thanks. The engine was first installed for SEMA 2005. The car ran the 2006 season with many engine and suspension problems. We started to sort it out right before 2007. And won the second round. My crew was probably stating the fact that we JUST got it to "work". As in, running all cylinders the whole time, not spinning, not overheating. And we just kept going from there.

We come through that way at least once a year. But there are not too many events between Atlanta and New Jersey. Hopefully something comes up in the DC area again.

For slower parking lot type stuff. I recommend anywhere from 3 - 5 degrees negative camber up front. And in the rear, setup the camber according to your ride height that gives you the most even tire wear. The lower you are, the closer to 0 or +.5 you want. If you are near stock height, -.5 to 0 or so.

For Toe, easy turn in and better control can be had with 1/8" toe out to 0 Toe. And for the rear I suggest about 1/8" toe in.

Be careful when running close to 0 toe front/rear on the street. The car will want to track funny.

Thanks man.

We run a few different setups for steering angle in both cars. I suggest Tein Tie rods for the easiest solution. We later built our own control arms and custom tie rods to achieve more angle.

See above for alignments...

NOS - I like the original flavor best!

Awesome! I wish I had some real questions to ask one of the masters.

How about the most basic.. I live in Merrillville, IN (NW IN). Is there any place or group you know of in Northwest Indiana or surrounding Chicago, where I could begin to learn drifting? I am interested in learning vehicle control, have some fun, and to expand my driving ability. I don't have a desire to become a pro, or compete, I just want to have fun and hopefully not tear up the car. (stock 04 350z) Thanks!

NOS - I've never even seen flavors other than original??? Is this somthing new?

ClubFR is the best organization in that area. They run lots of events on pretty awesome tracks.

NOS makes the original flavor, and they also have fruit punch, grape, and sugar free. They also have "Powershot" in 2 flavors.

Thanks for clearing that up. So Chris, why scrap the VK setup, just to try something new? I personally love the Titan car setup. It would be awesome to see that thing get stroked to a 6.0L or something. Hey better yet, ask Rhys Millen to throw in an LS7 for you (haha).

We are keeping the VK setup, just redo'ing a lot of stuff on the car, and the engine for this year. Trying to get more power!

+1 but for the Atlanta GA area. My car isn't stock tho but might have to find me some used tires to put on my old wheels

.. glad to hear that; it sounds like a beast going around the track. Awesome, that makes things a little bit more exciting for us who love the sport. I'm sure you guys will get it down. Whatever you roll out with this year you will definitely have my support and many others support. Look forward to seeing you this year in Atlanta.

I will check out clubfr - thank you for the advice!

I've been looking when I stop for gas, and they don't sell NOS in any flavor aside from original in my area. I guess we are behind the times. I live in NW Indiana and I often go to the south suburbs of Chicago and we just got the regular stuff. Never seen any other flavors.

Chris, very cool of you to take the time to post answers in this thread, thx.

Can you elaborate on what you have done to get more angle from the Z? Pics maybe?

I have the Tein tie rods and removed the bump stops but still get nowhere near the angle that some of the 240's see with their knuckle kits.

Kevin and I designed a new lower control arm that swaps in place of the factory dual lowers. it allows for much more clearance, and then we moved the steering pickup point to get over 50 degrees of angle. It works really well, but there is almost nothing out on the market right now that can give you that kind of angle.

Offtopic - but I finally saw the different flavors of NOS at a BP/AM-PM station on Ogden & 294. They wanted $3.49 per bottle, so needless to say I didn't buy that ish'.
